Arkansas<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Hogs trounced Vandy last week and field general Ryan Mallett looked just fine bouncing back from injury, going 27-of-44 for 409 yards and three TDs. The Carolina defense presents a much graver challenge than Vanderbilt\u2019s did, however. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Wide receivers Greg Childs, Joe Adams and RB Knile Davis are the usual suspects that support Mallett in the attack, but all good things on this prolific attack funnel through the QB. This is good news, because while the unit in general is respectable, Carolina\u2019s pass defense has struggled. If the Razorbacks can carve out chunks of yards versus SC like they\u2019ve been able to do against several opponents, they have a great chance of taking a signature win back to the SEC West.<\/p>\n

Arkansas\u2019 defense itself is flawed, so the team must out-gun the home side and must not get rattled in hostile territory. One piece of good news for Carolina is that Childs is out for the season with a knee injury. Still, this should be an excellent game.<\/p>\n

South Carolina<\/strong><\/p>\n

SC\u2019s secondary coach must be having cold sweats this week while game-planning for Arkansas. Few have an aerial attack like the Hogs and Carolina\u2019s back seven must answer the bell in order for the home side to feel comfortable about this game.<\/p>\n

Yet Carolina will create some offensive damage of its own. The \u2019Cocks have a brilliant WR in his own right in Alshon Jeffery, and freshman RB Marcus Lattimore has been a revelation for Steve Spurrier\u2019s club this season. How effective can Lattimore be, though, if SC is playing from behind?<\/p>\n

Regardless, this is a much better squad in 2010 and if it plays like it can, Carolina might just sew up the SEC East division.<\/p>\n

The Pick: <\/strong>Both teams really need this win to be near the top of the pack in the conference, but maybe Arkansas is just a bit hungrier after some tough beats, and its aerial onslaught will be very tough for the home side to stop. Could go either way but I see Arkansas winning a close game and an SEC classic.<\/p>\n
