Sing no sad songs for Brad Childress when the Vikings finally pull the plug on their pseudo-head coach. Childress finagled a big contract from Zygi Wilf when the Vikes rode a weak schedule to a 13-3 record last season after begging Brett Favre to return.<\/p>\n
The only cost to Childress was his dignity.<\/p>\n

New York Giants (4)<\/strong> \u2013 Admit it \u2013 did you really think Ahmad Bradshaw was this good?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Pittsburgh Steelers (2) \u2013 <\/strong>Starting to look like the AFC North will be decided Dec. 5 \u2013 Steelers at Baltimore.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Indianapolis Colts (3) <\/strong>\u2013 Do you also get the feeling that the Colts could pick someone off the assembly line at the John Deere factory, give him a uniform and he\u2019d have 5 or 6 catches for 85 yards in his first game with Manning?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/p>\n
New York Jets (1)<\/strong> \u2013 They need receivers who can, you know,\u00a0catch<\/em> the ball. Anybody know where Ray Berry is these days?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/p>\n

Tennessee Titans (9) \u2013 <\/strong>No easy games left. Chances are good that if you shoved a paper in front of Jeff Fisher and all it said was 10-6, he\u2019d sign it and take his chances from there.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Philadelphia Eagles (6)<\/strong> \u2013 Seven games in, and does anyone have a real feel for what this team is or can be? One thing \u2013 Philly usually plays better in November and December than in September and October.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Kansas City Chiefs (14) <\/strong>\u2013 If you\u2019re like me and had the Chiefs in your survivor pool, well, we all dodged a bullet.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
New Orleans Saints (8)<\/strong> \u2013 Lose to the Browns and then beat the Steelers. You just don\u2019t see stuff like this in the NBA or MLB.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Miami Dolphins (10)<\/strong> \u2013 Good news for the Fins, who are 4-0 on the road this season. They\u2019re at Baltimore this week.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n

Chicago Bears (11)<\/strong> \u2013 Bottom line: If the offensive line doesn\u2019t considerably better in the second half of the season, the playoffs are not happening and Jay Cutler may leave the field in two or three stretchers.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Oakland Raiders (26)<\/strong> \u2013 Gradkowski returns from injury and reclaims his starting job despite Jason Campbell leading the team to two wins and 92 points.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
St. Louis Rams (21) \u2013 <\/strong>Rams have accomplished the hard part, improving from fish-dead to mediocre. Shame that Stephen Jackson\u2019s best years were for bad teams, though.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Jacksonville Jaguars (17) \u2013 <\/strong>Del Rio usually keeps these guys competitive until late in the season despite not having plus-.500 talent.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Washington Redskins (18)<\/strong> \u2013 Looks like Shanahan will be QB shopping this offseason. If you don\u2019t trust your starter in the final minutes of a close game . . .<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/p>\n
San Diego Chargers (24)<\/strong> \u2013 Chargers\u2019 spotty start has thrown a wet blanket on Philip Rivers\u2019 amazing season \u2013 2,649 yards, the most by any quarterback ever through the first eight games of the season.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Arizona Cardinals (15) <\/strong>\u2013 No one in the NFC gives up points as fast or as often as the Cardinals, but in the West nothing will be certain until at least mid-December.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
Detroit Lions (28) \u2013 <\/strong>They\u2019re fast becoming the team that no one wants to play.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
