The Boston College Eagles head south to BBT Field in Winston-Salem, N.C. this upcoming Saturday afternoon for an ACC Atlantic Division showdown with Wake Forest. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. (ET). The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN3.com.<\/p>\n

Boston College snapped a five game losing streak with a much needed 16-10 win over Clemson last Saturday. The Eagles were a seven-point home underdog and the total stayed \u2018under\u2019 the 42 point line. The win raised their record to 3-5 straight-up and 2-6 against the spread. They are currently 1-4 SU in the ACC-Atlantic Division.<\/p>\n

While Boston College\u2019s defense has held opponents to an average of 23.1 points per game, its offense has only managed to average 18.8 points per game, ranking it 103rd<\/sup> in the country. QB Chase Rettig should most likely get the call in this one after completing 9-of-16 attempts for 136 yards including a 36-yard touchdown pass to RB Montel Harris to help seal the win against Clemson. Harris is also the team\u2019s leading rusher with 836 yards on 185 carries. <\/p>\n

Wake Forest has had an even tougher time of it this season with six straight losses heading into this game. Last week the Demon Deacons were flat out embarrassed by Maryland 62-14. They came nowhere near covering as a five-point road underdog and the total went way over the 51 point line. The loss dropped them to 2-6 SU on the year and to 3-5 ATS. Wake Forest is also 1-4 SU in conference play. \"NFL<\/a><\/p>\n

The Demon Deacon defense has had trouble stopping anyone this season as it giving up an average of 40.8 points per game, ranking it 117th<\/sup> in the nation. The do have a decent rushing offense that is averaging 180.4 yards per game, which is ranked 33rd<\/sup> in the country. RB Josh Harris leads the team with 457 rushing yards on 72 carries, and there are five other players on the roster that have over 100 yards rushing on the year.<\/p>\n

Boston College is 4-6 SU in its last 10 games but just 2-8 ATS. The Eagles are 1-3 both SU and ATS in their last four road games and the total has stayed \u2018under\u2019\u00a0in seven of their last 10 games overall.<\/p>\n

Wake Forest is 3-7 SU in its last 10 games and 4-6 ATS. The Deacons are 2-3 SU in their last five home games and 3-2 ATS. The total has gone \u2018over\u2019\u00a0in eight of their last 10 games overall.<\/p>\n

Head-to-head, the Eagles have won four out of the last five, including the last three games SU. They are 2-2 ATS in the last four. Last year BC covered as a one-point favorite at home, in a 27-24 win. The year before it won by three on the road 24-21 but there was no published line on the game.<\/p>\n

In a matchup between the Eagles\u2019 anemic offense and the Deacons\u2019 porous defense something has to give. Boston College is still the better all around team and will find a way to win this game by more than 3 \u00bd points.<\/p>\n
