He needed 10 stitches to close his laceration and was carted off the field. Reportedly, he wasn\u2019t concussed, so he should return for Minnesota\u2019s next game. Then again, factoring in the fractures in his ankle, would it surprise you if he hit the ejection button and bailed on the season at any point?<\/p>\n
Speaking of bailing, does Randy Moss want to do the same? After catching just one eight-yard pass from Favre yesterday, Moss clearly believes the honeymoon is over in Minnesota. He opened his post-game gong show by stating he would not answer any media questions for the rest of 2010 and would only \u201cinterview himself.\u201d He then lauded Bill Belichick as the \u201cbest coach in NFL history\u201d and said of his former Patriots teammates: \u201cI love you guys, I miss you, I\u2019m out.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mike Shanahan made what might be the weirdest coaching decision of the year yesterday. With the Washington Redskins desperately needing to get downfield in a hurry to come back against Detroit, Shanahan benched Donovan McNabb for the final two possessions in favor of Rex Grossman. Shanahan claimed that Grossman was more comfortable with Washington\u2019s two-minute offense and that \u201cI thought that was the best scenario for us to win.\u201d<\/p>\n

NBA news: Spurs extend Tony Parker<\/strong><\/p>\nTony Parker and his lovely wife aren\u2019t going anywhere. The Spurs point guard will not test the free agent waters at all after 2010-11. He has reportedly signed a four-year, $50-million extension with San Antonio. Parker insists that he and Eva Longoria Parker always wanted to remain in San Antonio. <\/p>\n
NHL news: Daniel Briere suspended; Zach Parise injured<\/strong><\/p>\nIt\u2019s hard not to view the NHL as a joke when James Wisniewski gets two games for an obscene gesture and Philadelphia\u2019s Daniel Briere only gets suspended for one more game when he could\u2019ve killed a man over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Briere used his hockey stick as a weapon on Saturday night, two-hand chopping Frans Nielsen in the head. His punishment: a three-game suspension. Wow.<\/p>\n
The news keeps getting worse for the New Jersey Devils. As if their 3-8-1 start and salary cap woes weren\u2019t enough, they\u2019ve lost their best forward for the time being. Zach Parise suffered a lower-body injury on Saturday against the Kings and has been sent back to New Jersey for re-evaluation. No other details have been disclosed.<\/p>\n
NCAA football news: Jacory Harris, Dayne Crist injured<\/strong><\/p>\nTwo major schools lost their quarterbacks over the weekend in NCAA football. Miami\u2019s Jacory Harris suffered a concussion during the Hurricanes\u2019 24-19 loss to Virginia on Saturday. His status going forward is uncertain. Stephen Morris did, however, fill in admirably, leading Miami back from a 24-0 deficit to score 19 unanswered points.<\/p>\n
While Miami\u2019s QB situation may be OK after all, Notre Dame may not be so lucky. Dayne Crist tore his left patellar tendon on Saturday and had season-ending surgery to repair it on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
