Utah State Aggies (2-5)<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you can\u2019t score, you can\u2019t win. That\u2019s the harsh reality facing the Utah State Aggies, who have scored seven points or fewer in three of their last four games. Last week\u2019s 45-7 loss to Hawaii was positively embarrassing. Quarterback Diondre Borel was just 7 of 23 for 99 yards and the Aggies\u2019 offense as a whole produced just 181 total yards. Yuck.<\/p>\n

Worse yet for the Aggies, they\u2019re not doing a good job preventing points, either. Bryant Moniz lit them up for 389 passing yards last week and they surrendered 216 rushing yards. Utah State surrenders 421 yards of offense per game, good for 95th<\/sup> in the nation. [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n

While the Aggies do a respectable job running the ball, averaging 156.7 yards per game, they may not get a chance to flex that muscle if they fall behind and are forced to pass against Nevada.<\/p>\n

Nevada Wolf Pack (6-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nevada is still reeling from its loss to Hawaii, which ruined its perfect season, but the Wolf Pack have had the bye to recover emotionally and should return to Mackay Stadium angry and ready to romp.<\/p>\n

Nevada has one of the country\u2019s very best offenses, averaging 500-plus yards per game, including 288.6 rushing yards, and ranking sixth in the country overall. The Wolf Pack average 39.9 points per game and haven\u2019t missed a field goal all season. Vai Taua has been a force for them in the backfield this year, running for 11 scores and catching two more touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Defensively, Nevada has been a bend-but-don\u2019t break unit this year, surrendering more than 360 yards of offense per game but allowing just 20 points per contest, ranking them just outside the top 30 in scoring defense.<\/p>\n

The pick: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Even with a spread of 26 points, Nevada should cover in what could be very similar result to the beating Hawaii gave Utah State last week. I\u2019d expect 40-plus points from the Wolf Pack. The Aggies may get back into double digits but they shouldn\u2019t expect to do much more than that.<\/p>\n
