The San Diego Chargers are in a tail spin \u2013 they have lost three straight games despite still owning the number 1 offense and defense in the NFL. It is crazy to me that a 2-5 team is -3.5 against a team that is 5-2 and on a three game win streak.<\/p>\n

The Tennessee Titans have been playing some good football as of late. Last week, the passing game that ranks 29th<\/sup> (170.9 yards per game) came alive and \u201cDoghouse Kenny Britt\u201d scored three touchdowns \u2013 crazy as it seems. Vince Young should return this week and put a significant damper on Britt\u2019s numbers. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Still, this team\u2019s bread and butter is the run and Chris Johnson. CJ2 has had an up and down season thus far but there is no denying that he is simply one of the most dangerous weapons in the game. He will have his work cut out for him however, against the league\u2019s eighth best run defense (85.7 yards per game).<\/p>\n

Tennessee\u2019s defense is ranked 23rd<\/sup> overall \u2013 they give up 230.6 yards per game through the air and 97.6 yards per game on the ground. Philip Rivers could have a field day against the porous secondary!<\/p>\n

The San Diego Charger apparently used up all of their \u201ccomeback karma\u201d\u00a0in the last few seasons. This year, it still may happen, but is going to be a long, uphill battle. Things don\u2019t get any easier for the Chargers \u2013 the Hot Titans are coming to town.<\/p>\n

The Chargers currently have the best offense and the best defense statistically in the NFL. They are averaging over 317 yards per game through the air and 110 yards on the ground. With Malcolm Floyd and Legadu Nannee likely OUT this week again, and Antonio Gates still banged up, the running game will need to be a bigger contributor in this game. However, the Titans do an OK job against the run.<\/p>\n

Defensively, the Chargers have the #1 unit in the NFL as well \u2013\u00a02nd<\/sup> against the pass and 8th<\/sup> against the run. We know that the run defense will be tested with Chris Johnson coming to town.<\/p>\n

Betting Outlook:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tennessee is 4-1 S\/U in their last five games and is 6-2 S\/U in their last eight on the road. However, the Titans are 0-5 S\/U and ATS versus San Diego in their last five meetings and are 1-4 S\/U in their last five trips to San Diego.<\/p>\n

The San Diego Chargers are just 1-4 S\/U and ATS in their last five games overall, but are 13-6 S\/U overall in their last 19. They are 7-2 S\/U in their last nine at home but are only 2-3-1 ATS in their last six at Qualcomm Stadium.<\/p>\n

This is a matchup of a Hot team versus a Cold team. Tennessee is playing with a lot of confidence right now while the Chargers simply aren\u2019t. Chris Johnson has a knack of bouncing back from bad games and I think that trend continues this week. The Titans are simply too Hot to handle and should at least cover the 3.5 points on the road.<\/p>\n
