Troy<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Trojans once again appear to be the best team in the SunBelt Conference.\u00a0 They are one of only two teams who have yet to lose a game in conference play, the other –\u00a0 Florida International, as they head on the road this weekend.\u00a0 This team is not as strong defensively as it has been in the past but it has won all of its conference games by at least a touchdown thanks to an offense that hasn\u2019t missed a beat after suffering graduation losses.<\/p>\n

The reason the offense is humming is that freshman QB Corey Robinson has been very sharp.\u00a0 He is directing the 10th most prolific passing attack in the country and has a very acceptable 12-6 touchdown to interception ratio.\u00a0 Easing his transition is leading receiver Jerrel Jernigan.\u00a0 Jernigan is on his way to another 1000 yard season and many think he has the talent to be a first round NFL draft pick in the spring.<\/p>\n

Troy has won the majority of the games against the Warhawks but the last two times they have visited Monroe they have walked away as losers.\u00a0 They are only 3-4 ATS against ULM who seems to get up when playing the conference\u2019s best.\u00a0 Considering Troy\u2019s dominance over the SunBelt ULM\u2019s performance against the Trojans is actually quite impressive.\u00a0 The Trojans have lost only 2 conference games the last three seasons. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Louisiana-Monroe<\/strong><\/p>\n

Returning only 10 starters from a 6-6 team a year ago not much was expected from the Warhawks this season.\u00a0 But at 3-4 they have a decent chance of reaching the six win plateau that would make them eligible for their first ever bowl game.\u00a0 If they can work their home magic again against Troy it will doubly serve to get them the wins they need and improve their bowl profile.<\/p>\n

ULM is doing well despite the fact that their offensive and defensive numbers are worse than a year ago.\u00a0 They seem to have mastered winning by a little and losing by a lot which is a tough thing to do.\u00a0 Their three wins are by an average of 3 points while of their four losses only one was as close as 14 points.\u00a0 They may be in for another double digit loss this weekend.<\/p>\n

The thing the Warhawks do best is pass the ball.\u00a0 Redshirt freshman Kolton Browning has been very effective and is on pace for a 3000 yards season.\u00a0 Unfortunately he is their leading rusher too.\u00a0 This is a suprise because ULM returned last year\u2019s leading rusher Frank Goodin who rushed for over 1100 yards last season with 13 TDs.\u00a0 He averaged more than 5 yards per carry last season but this year he is averaging half that.\u00a0 ULM is 115th in the country rushing as a result.<\/p>\n

The Pick: <\/strong>Even though ULM has had success against Troy at home in the past I don\u2019t think they are going to be so lucky this time around.\u00a0 Troy should win easily but I think the spread might be a little hefty.<\/p>\n
