Parity in the form of mediocrity.\u201d<\/em> It applies today.<\/p>\n Week 7 Rankings:<\/strong><\/h3>\n1. New York Jets (Last week 1)<\/strong> \u2013 5-1 straight up, 5-1 ATS, 5-1 on the Over. Bunch of average teams coming up. Life has been good to the fat man since that opening loss to Baltimore.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (3) \u2013 <\/strong>Ben Roethlisberger picks up where he left off. He actually has an advantage over other QBs in that he has had four weeks of R&R while others have been getting banged up.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
3. Indianapolis Colts (5) <\/strong>\u2013 Week off to get ready for the Nov. 1 Monday night showdown against the Texans in the game of the year in the AFC South.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
4. New York Giants (6)<\/strong> \u2013 Chance to turn the lights out on the Cowboys this Monday night and convert the NFC East into a 2-team race with Philadelphia.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
5. New England Patriots (7)<\/strong> \u2013 Branch: 9 catches for 98 yards in first game with Patriots; Moss: 5 for 55 in first game with Vikings.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
6. Philadelphia Eagles (14)<\/strong> \u2013 Kevin Kolb, who Andy Reid says is the No. 2 quarterback, threw for 579 yards and 4 TDs in the last two games, during which the Eagles scored 58 points. Michael Vick, who Reid says is the No. 1 QB, is just about ready to come back.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
7. Baltimore Ravens (2) <\/strong>\u2013 A conservative game plan fizzled against the Patriots, but the Ravens could allow the Bills coaches to sit in on team meetings all this week and still take care of Buffalo this Sunday.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
8. New Orleans Saints (9)<\/strong> \u2013 Saints are having trouble running the ball.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
9. Tennessee Titans (16) \u2013 <\/strong>Interest in re-acquiring Albert Haynesworth from Washington wanes with every solid performance from the defensive line.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
10. Miami Dolphins (19)<\/strong> \u2013 What a strange situation. Bill Parcells up and leaves in the middle of the season and no one knows if he\u2019s been pushed out or decided to leave himself.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
11. Chicago Bears (8)<\/strong> \u2013 Bears ran the ball only 12 times in a loss to the Seahawks. You get that every now and then when Mike Martz calls your plays.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
12. Atlanta Falcons (7) <\/strong>\u2013 Schedule for the next month is very benign: three straight home games (Cincinnati, Tampa Bay, Baltimore), then at St. Louis.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
13. Houston Texans (18) \u2013 <\/strong>In a passing league, the Texans have no clue how to defend the pass. They are dead last in yards allowed through the air.<\/li>\n\n![\"Bet](\"http:\/\/affiliates.commissionaccount.com\/processing\/impressions.asp?btag=a_3953b_506\")

14. Kansas City Chiefs (11) <\/strong>\u2013 Memo to Chiefs fans: Don\u2019t worry about those two losses. Just tighten up the defense a bit as you head into the soft underbelly part of the schedule. San Diego has a tougher grind and this is a good opportunity to create some separation in the division.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
15. Arizona Cardinals (15) <\/strong>\u2013 After upsetting the Saints and getting a week off to heal and get injured players back, the Cardinals\u2019 confidence is sky-high headed into first-place showdown in Seattle this week.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
16. Green Bay Packers (10)<\/strong> \u2013 Two notes: 1. Defensive coordinator Dom Capers has never coached on a team that has beaten Brett Favre. 2. The Packer defense \u2013 especially the back 8 — has been decimated by injuries.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
17. Jacksonville Jaguars (17)\u00a0\u00a0— <\/strong>David Garrard\u2019s wife reportedly has given Jags coaches some playcalling advice, saying that DG should roll out more rather than remain in the pocket. Give it a shot.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
18. Washington Redskins (13)<\/strong> \u2013 Skins say they\u2019re happy with Donovan McNabb, but from a pure statistically angle (5 TDs, 5 INTS, 24th<\/sup>-ranked QB rating) he hasn\u2019t been much better than Jason Campbell. And now Skins coaches are messing with McNabb\u2019s mechanics.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
19. Seattle Seahawks (28) \u2013 <\/strong>Seems likes it\u2019s been a half-decade since the Seahawks have had this much momentum. Has anyone noticed that Leon Washington is averaging 37.8 yards on punt returns?<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12)<\/strong> \u2013 Connor Barth attempted two field goals in last weekend\u2019s loss to New Orleans \u2013 and both hit the right upright, from 40 and 47 yards out.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
21. St. Louis Rams (27) \u2013 <\/strong>OK, the Rams have figured out how to win at home. Now, if they can find a way to win at Tampa Bay this Sunday in the Upstart Bowl, maybe they can be a player in the NFC West this season.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
22. Minnesota Vikings (25)<\/strong> \u2013 Too bad the fans in Wisconsin are so polite. They could have some real fun with Favre this Sunday.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
23. Cincinnati Bengals (22) \u2013 <\/strong>Should the NFL suspend the rules on hard hits when Owens and Ochocinco come across the middle? Just a thought.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
24. San Diego Chargers (21)<\/strong> \u2013 Best offense, best defense, 2-4 record. Norv Turner teams never seem to have a sense of urgency.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
25. Denver Broncos (23) \u2013 <\/strong>Broncos have played the NFL\u2019s toughest schedule so far this season, but it gets a lot easier from here on out.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
26. Oakland Raiders (20)<\/strong> \u2013 Incredible stat of the week: Jason Campbell\u2019s QB rating in the loss to San Francisco was 10.7.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
27. Dallas Cowboys (24)<\/strong> \u2013 The Boys have one foot on a banana peel and the other in quicksand, and the thing they\u2019re worried most about is the NFL rules limiting end zone celebrations. Tells you a lot about this bunch.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
28. Detroit Lions (26) \u2013 <\/strong>All signs point to Matthew Stafford returning Sunday for the first time since being hurt on opening day.<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
29. San Francisco 49ers (31) \u2013 <\/strong>Frank Gore averaging close to one yard less per carry (4.1) this year when compared to 2009 (4.9).<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
30. Cleveland Browns (29) \u2013 <\/strong>At Pittsburgh last week. At New Orleans this week. Has any rookie QB ever had a more difficult first two games than Colt McCoy?<\/li>\n<\/p>\n
