The Rutgers Scarlet Knights head into Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA to take on the Pitt Panthers in a Big East matchup this upcoming Saturday afternoon. Kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com.<\/p>\n

Rutgers is currently in second place in the Big East with a 4-2 record overall and a 1-0 record in the conference. The Scarlet Knights are coming off a thrilling 23-20 OT win over Army this past Saturday in a game they were favored to win by 5 \u00bd points at home. The total went \u2018over\u2019 the 42 \u00bd point line by the slimmest of margins.<\/p>\n

The Scarlet Knights\u2019 defense remains tough to score on as it is currently ranked 12th<\/sup> in the country in points allowed, giving up an average of 15.3 points per game. Their offense has been another story; averaging just 21.2 points per game ranking them 93rd<\/sup> in the country. WR Mohamed Sanu has been Rutgers biggest threat with 29 receptions for 295 yards and two TD\u2019s to go along with 52 carries for 285 rushing yards and four TD\u2019s on the ground. \"NFL<\/a><\/p>\n

Pittsburgh\u2019s season so far has literally been up and down as it has followed all three losses up with a win to go 3-3 on the year. After a 23-17 loss to Notre Dame two weeks ago, the Panthers bounced back with a 45-14 pasting of Syracuse as a 2 \u00bd point home favorite last Saturday, almost taking the 45 \u00bd point total line \u2018over\u2019 on their own.<\/p>\n

Pitt has done a good job at beating the teams it is supposed to beat as the Panthers have outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points per game in their three wins. QB Tino Sunseri has completed 107-of-163 attempts for 1227 yards and nine TD\u2019s. WR Jon Baldwin leads the team with 25 receptions for 383 yards and three TD\u2019s and RB Ray Graham is Pitts leading rusher with 589 yards on 71 carries and he has scored five TD\u2019s on the ground.<\/p>\n

Rutgers is 6-4 straight-up in its last 10 games but just 3-7 against the spread. The Scarlet Knights are 2-1 SU and 1-2 in their last three road games. The total has gone \u2018over\u2019 in six of their last nine games.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh is 5-5 SU in its last 10 games and 4-4-2 ATS. The Panthers are 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS in their last six games at home. The total has gone \u2018over\u2019 in four of their last six games.<\/p>\n

Head-to-head, the Panthers have won six out of the last 10 SU, but the Scarlet Knights have actually won four out of the last five games SU and are 3-2 ATS. The total has gone \u2018over\u2019 in four out of the last seven games between the two. Rutgers has had success against Pitt over the past few seasons, but the Panthers have shown the ability to win the games they are supposed to this season. Chalk this game up as another example of this especially since they are only giving 3 \u00bd points.\u00a0<\/p>\n
