The Maryland Terrapins take on the Boston College Eagles this upcoming Saturday afternoon in an ACC Atlantic Division showdown at Alumni Stadium just outside Boston. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. (ET). The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN3.com.<\/p>\n

Maryland heads into the meat of its ACC schedule with an overall record of 4-2, but is coming off a 31-7 pasting at the hands of the Clemson Tigers. The Terrapins failed to cover as a 14 \u00bd\u00a0point road underdog and the total stayed \u2018under\u2019\u00a0 the 48 \u00bd\u00a0point line. They are now 1-1 in the conference after beating Duke 21-16 the week before.<\/p>\n

Maryland\u2019s defense has been the strength of this team as it is currently ranked 37th<\/sup> in the nation in points allowed, giving up an average of 20.5 per game. The main problem with the offense is a passing attack that is only averaging 185.5 yards per game. The Terrapins primary signal-caller Danny O\u2019Brien has only completed 51.9 percent of his passes for 801 yards. He has thrown six TD\u2019s along with three interceptions. Maryland\u2019s leading receiver is Torrey Smith with 21 receptions for 460 yards with five of them for TD\u2019s. The running game is led by RB Davin Meggett, who has 354 yards on 59 carries. \"NFL<\/a><\/p>\n

Boston College dropped its fourth straight game and third in the ACC in a tough 24-19 loss to No. 17 Florida State last week. The Eagles covered as a 21 \u00bd point road underdog and the total stayed \u2018under\u2019 the 48 point line. There other losses in the conference were to Virginia Tech 19-0 and North Carolina State 44-17.<\/p>\n

BC\u2019s primary problem this season has been putting points on the board. The Eagles are currently ranked 104th<\/sup> in the country in scoring, averaging just 18.8 points per game. The problem has been across the board as they are ranked 80th<\/sup> in passing yards per game and a dreadful 103rd<\/sup> in rushing, averaging just 103.3 yards per game on the ground.<\/p>\n

Maryland is 4-6 straight-up in its last 10 games and 5-5 against the spread. The Terrapins are 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS in their last four road games. The total has stayed \u2018under\u2019\u00a0 in six of their last 10 games overall.<\/p>\n

Boston College is 4-6 SU in its last 10 games and just 1-9 ATS. The Eagles are 2-3 SU and 0-5 ATS in their last five games at home. The total has stayed \u2018under\u2019 in seven of their last 10 games overall.<\/p>\n

Head-to-head, BC has won five of the last seven games SU and is 4-3 ATS. The home team in this series is 3-1 both SU and ATS in the last four games. This is a game that Boston College desperately needs to keep its bowl hopes alive as there are no more easy wins left on the schedule. The Eagles find a way to grind out a close win at home, but take the Terrapins to cover with the points.<\/p>\n
