WAIVER WIRE WEEK 6<\/h2>\n

This is our waiver wire pick-ups column. Dave B scours the free agent pools in fantasy land for the best available talent every week. Availability, of course, depends on the league. We\u2019re using 12 team, 15 roster spot leagues as the median, but we\u2019ll look for roster candidates for leagues of all shapes and sizes.<\/p>\n

After all of the weekly games are finished be sure to check our cheatsheets, a who\u2019s hot, and who\u2019s not report plus more in our fantasy football<\/strong><\/a> guide.<\/p>\n

Week 5 is over \u2013\u00a0it\u2019s now time to focus on Week 6 of the NFL Schedule. There are four more teams on byes this week so they Waiver Wire should be heavily utilized. <\/p>\n

There are definitely some every week plays on this week\u2019s Waiver Wire list, so pay attention and good luck in finding that one jewel!<\/p>\n

QBs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Josh Freeman \u2013\u00a0Tampa Bay Buccaneers \u2013 <\/strong> The dude looks like the real deal. Sure, he had a bad week against Pittsburgh a couple of weeks ago but who doesn\u2019t. Freeman\u2018s big (6\u20196\u201d, 250 lbs.), he\u2019s not afraid to run with the ball (28 yard average this season) and he has some incredible weapons at his disposal. Games against New Orleans, St. Louis and Arizona are on tap, so the numbers should remain solid.<\/p>\n

Jason Campbell \u2013\u00a0Oakland Raiders \u2013 <\/strong> If Bruce Gradkowski is as injured as he looked Sunday, Campbell will reclaim his starting job. He looked like a new man in Week 5 against San Diego. With San Francisco\u2019s generous defense on tap, Campbell just may be worth the risk.<\/p>\n

Ryan Fitzpatrick \u2013\u00a0Buffalo Bills \u2013 <\/strong>Fitz has thrown for at least two touchdowns in three straight games and he threw three in Week 5. One thing we know about Buffalo \u2013 they are going to be trailing in every game this season. That equates to a lot of throwing!<\/p>\n

Others to Monitor:<\/strong> David Gerrard \u2013 Jacksonville Jaguars, Max Hall \u2013 Arizona Cardinals<\/p>\n

RBs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Brandon Jacobs \u2013\u00a0New York Giants \u2013 <\/strong> It appears that Jacobs has his confidence back and the confidence of his team as well. The early season slump appears to be over \u2013 Jacobs has scored in two straight, is getting more touches and is a reliable substitute for a banged up Ahmad Bradshaw. \"Sports<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Fred Jackson \u2013\u00a0Buffalo Bills \u2013 <\/strong> With Marshawn Lynch gone, Jackson has ascended to the top of the Buffalo RB depth chart. He gained 73 yards on 12 carries on Sunday. He\u2019s got a bye, then Baltimore on the slate \u2013 YUCK!<\/p>\n

Mike Hart \u2013\u00a0Indianapolis Colts \u2013 <\/strong> Joseph Addai has a shoulder injury and Donald Brown is constantly down with a hamstring injury. It\u2019s time to give someone else a shot in the BRUTAL Indy backfield. Why not Hart? He scored a touchdown and looked OK on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Others to Monitor: <\/strong>Derrick Ward \u2013 Houston Texans, Earnest Graham \u2013 Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/p>\n

WRs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Danny Amendola \u2013\u00a0St. Louis Rams \u2013 <\/strong>Mark Clayton is reportedly OUT for the season and that leaves Amendola as the only reliable target for a good quarterback. He had 12 catches for 95 yards on a whopping 19 targets on Sunday. Amendola has at least four receptions and 43 yards in four of his five games so far this season \u2013 a number that WILL increase.<\/p>\n

Mike Williams \u2013\u00a0Tampa Bay Buccaneers \u2013 <\/strong> Williams is a Big Time talent that is not disappointing in his rookie year. He has developed a nice rapport with emerging QB Josh Freeman and should continue to produce. Another benefit is the fact that Williams has already had his bye.<\/p>\n

Mike Thomas \u2013\u00a0Jacksonville Jaguars \u2013 <\/strong>We told you about him last week and he had another solid Week 5. He is clearly David Gerrard\u2019s best weapon and has at least four catches and 43 yards in four of his last five games. He\u2019s Mr. Consistent and has a terrible Titans secondary in Week 6.<\/p>\n

Others to Monitor \u2013<\/strong> Jabar Gaffney \u2013 Denver Broncos, Steve Johnson \u2013 Buffalo Bills, Kenny Britt \u2013 Tennessee Titans<\/p>\n

TEs<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Jeremy Shockey \u2013\u00a0New Orleans Saints \u2013 <\/strong> Shockey slid off the Fantasy radar a bit, mostly because of his injury issues. He has scored in consecutive weeks and has 17 grabs for 166 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games.<\/p>\n

Andrew Quarless \u2013\u00a0Green Bay Packers \u2013 <\/strong>Jermichael Finley and Donald Lee both left Sunday\u2019s game with injuries. The Tight End is a huge part of the Green Bay offense, so monitor the situation and pick up Quarless if Finley and Lee are hurt.<\/p>\n

Defense<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Atlanta Falcons \u2013 <\/strong>The Falcons appear that they are for real. They have a very low 70 points against so far and lead the league in interceptions (10). If you are in need of a bye week replacement, this might be your team.<\/p>\n

Tampa Bay Buccaneers \u2013 <\/strong>This unit has averaged over two interceptions this season so far. They have been playing at an extremely high level and after Week 6; they have a bunch of extremely favorable matchups.<\/p>\n
