Green Bay<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Packers almost let another game slip away last week against Detroit.\u00a0 They jumped out to an early lead but let the Lions score the last 12 points to make it close.\u00a0 In fact, they didn\u2019t score an offensive touchdown in the second half so if Charles Woodson hadn\u2019t intercepted a pass and taken it to the house it might have been two straight weeks of disappointing losses to division foes.<\/p>\n

Green Bay did a better job against the Lions but they are still not running the ball like they want to.\u00a0\u00a0 That puts a lot of pressure on Aaron Rodgers who might be forcing it a bit.\u00a0 His numbers last week weren\u2019t great and he already has five interceptions this year after throwing only 7 all of last season.\u00a0 He needs to start cutting down on mistakes because the better teams in the league will make the Packers pay if they are set up with a short field.<\/p>\n

These two NFC teams haven\u2019t met since 2007, a 17-14 Green Bay victory.\u00a0 The way these two squads have changed that might as well be 1887 as the QB in that one for GB was a guy named Favre, Mike Shanahan was still coaching in Denver and nobody was talking about Albert Haynesworth.\u00a0 The winner of the game this time around will be positioning themselves well in the NFC. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Washington<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have been hearing some chatter about the Redskins being \u201cback\u201d but I think it is a little premature.\u00a0 Yes they beat Dallas in the opener (or Dallas beat themselves) and yes they beat Philly last week, both of which were important divisional games.\u00a0 But in between they lost to Houston and St. Louis.\u00a0 The Rams may be improved but you can\u2019t be \u201cback\u201d and lose games you are not supposed to…badly.<\/p>\n

The reason their fans want to say the Skins are back is because of Donovan McNabb.\u00a0 His stats may not be spectacular but he is giving confidence to a team that has been missing it for so long even a little bit is something to celebrate.\u00a0 He is also giving them consistency which is something they lacked during the Jason Campbell experiment.<\/p>\n

What he can\u2019t do is suit up on defense and tackle.\u00a0 Which is a shame because he would probably do a better job than what they are working with now.\u00a0 The Redskins are second last in the league in yards allowed, giving up a staggering 406 yards per game.\u00a0 They are also second last in passing defense.\u00a0 Call it more than a hunch but I think Aaron Rodgers is going to have a good game.\u00a0 McNabb doesn\u2019t have the weapons to challenge in a shootout.<\/p>\n

The Pick:<\/strong> I am shocked that the spread in this one is so low.\u00a0 Sure the Packers are missing a couple of key pieces but what left is plenty good to put Washington in its place.\u00a0 Bet big on GB.<\/p>\n
