Week 5 Fantasy Start and Sit \u2013 Fantasy Matchups<\/strong><\/h2>\n

READY TO BET ON NFL WEEK 5? WE’VE GOT YOUR PICKS —–><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Week 5 is almost here \u2013\u00a0I can\u2019t wait! There are some good matchups this week as per usual, some injuries to monitor and some underwhelming players that are poised to finally break out and reward their owners for their patience.<\/p>\n

Below is a breakdown of every game on the slate and some suggestions of who will or won\u2019t help your Fantasy Team.<\/p>\n

Jacksonville at Buffalo 1:00 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

Two of the worst defenses in the NFL will be on display in Buffalo on Sunday \u2013\u00a0should be a Fantasy Bonanza right? Wrong! The Jaguars passing game is absolutely brutal but use Mike Thomas and Marcedes Lewis if you are absolutely stuck. Maurice Jones-Drew is the only bonafide starter for Jacksonville. For Buffalo, Marshawn Lynch is gone. If you are a gambling man, take a chance on CJ Spiller \u2013 he only needs one touch for a huge afternoon. Fred Jackson will get the start and may post some decent flex numbers as well. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been OK and probably won\u2019t hurt you this week but stay away from the rest of the Bills.<\/p>\n

Tampa Bay at Cincinnati 1:00 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a very tough matchup for the young Tampa passing game – I would look elsewhere for sure, except for Kellen Winslow of course. The running back situation has been extremely inconsistent and ineffective. Stay away. For Cincinnati, last week\u2019s game showed that they still have some life. Start Palmer, Owens, Ochocinco and Cedric Benson with confidence. The Bengals defense is also worth a look.<\/p>\n

Atlanta at Cleveland 1:00 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

Both running backs \u2013\u00a0Peyton Hillis and Michael Turner are definite starts in this game. As for the passing games, Matt Ryan is good for a couple of touchdowns \u2013\u00a0 one to Roddy White and one to Tony Gonzalez. Start all three. For Cleveland, Jake Delhomme should return. Give him a week or so before even considering starting him \u2013\u00a0the same goes for his receivers.<\/p>\n

St. Louis at Detroit 1:00 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

St. Louis players warrant starts! I can\u2019t believe that I just said that! Sam Bradford, Steven Jackson and Mark Clayton are all fine starters this week and Danny Amendola could be a nice sleeper in PPR leagues. For Detroit, Matthew Stafford may return this week (I have my doubts). Shaun Hill is actually a decent play if he plays as is Calvin Johnson, Brandon Pettigrew and Jahvid Best.<\/p>\n

Kansas City at Indianapolis 1:00 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Chiefs know their bread and butter \u2013\u00a0Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones are both starts against a terrible Indy run defense. The passing game is still stuck in the mud but don\u2019t hesitate to use Tony Moeaki this week. For the Indianapolis Colts \u2013\u00a0 start the usual. Manning, Wayne, Clark and Collie should all be good plays this week. If your running back is on a bye, I have a feeling about Joseph Addai this week as well. The Indy run game is among the worst but my gut says to start him.<\/p>\n

Green Bay at Washington 1:00 PM<\/strong><\/p>\n

Green Bay\u2019s running game is awful which means more opportunity for the passing game and against a Washington secondary that has been torched in recent weeks, look for Rodgers, Driver, Jennings and Finley to have huge weeks. For Washington, everybody except for me is drinking the Ryan Torain Kool-aid but there is a reason that he was on the practice roster only a few weeks ago! He may be a start based on the number of touches he gets however. Donovan McNabb is borderline simply because he has relatively no weapons to speak of except for Chris Cooley who is a weekly start. Green bay\u2019s defense is worth a look here as well. <\/p>\n

Chicago at Carolina 1:00 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

Jay Cutler is questionable to play this week but I think he will. His offensive line was badly exposed last week and until I see them have a solid game, I would shy away from Cutler and Johnny Knox. They probably won\u2019t kill you this week, but they will likely be unspectacular. Greg Olsen is the only sure-fire starter on offense for the Bears. Of course start the Bears defense. For Carolina, Steve Smith is likely out so sit everyone in the Carolina passing game. DeAngelo Williams is an every week play but may have a difficult time against a defense that will surely focus solely on him. Carolina\u2019s defense is a decent play here as well \u2013\u00a0sacks are available for sure against the leaky Chicago offensive line. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Denver at Baltimore 1:00 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

Give the Green Light to the Broncos passing game. Orton, Royal and Lloyd have proven to be every week starters regardless of matchup. The Broncos running game on the other hand is a total disaster. For the Ravens, Joe Flacco is certainly useable especially with the weapons at his disposal. Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason are all good plays this week. The Ravens defense has to be started every week. <\/p>\n

NY Giants at Houston 1:00 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Giants passing participants should all get a long look this week against Houston\u2019s vulnerable secondary. Eli Manning, Steve Smith and Hakeem Nicks should all have good games. Ahmad Bradshaw is on the cusp of every-week starter status but this week goes against a defense that hasn\u2019t allowed more than 55 yards rushing to anyone this season. Brandon Jacobs could snake a few opportunities away as well \u2013he\u2019s looking better and Bradshaw is dinged. For Houston, the usual suspects warrant a start \u2013 Schaub, Johnson, Foster and Kevin Walter are all good plays.<\/p>\n

New Orleans at Arizona 4:05 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

The New Orleans passing game continues to be a crap shoot. Who out of Colston, Moore or Henderson will be Drew Brees\u2019\u00a0go-to-guy? If I had to guess, it would be Colston again. So start Brees and Colston \u2013\u00a0Moore and Henderson if you are in a gambling mood. Don\u2019t shy away from Jeremy Shockey who is having a good season so far. If Pierre Thomas plays (sore ankle), he is a starter as well. Chris Ivory and Ladell Betts are not very good Fantasy options if Thomas doesn\u2019t play. For Arizona, the only player I would trust is Beanie Wells who should get 15-20 touches this week. Max Hall is the likely starting quarterback \u2013 YUCK!<\/p>\n

Tennessee at Dallas 4:15 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

Not much to like about the Tennessee passing offense, leaving Chris Johnson as the only startable Titan. Tennessee\u2019s defense has generated a ton of sacks so far this season and is usable in a pinch. For Dallas, start everyone in the passing game against a defense that has surrendered 672 yards passing the last two games. Romo, Austin, Whitten and Dez Bryant are all fine starters this week. <\/p>\n

San Diego at Oakland 4:15 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

Ryan Matthews is healthy again for the Chargers and is a definite must-start. With Oakland\u2019s brutal run defense, backup Mike Tolbert could be a valuable flex option as well. In the passing game, Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates are unbenchable and Malcolm Floyd should have a good game as well. Teams have thrown the ball on San Diego making Bruce Gradkowski an OK start surprisingly. Whoever starts for Oakland at running back (Darren McFadden has a hammy issue) could be productive as well. Zach Miller is the only receiver that I would consider for Oakland.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia at San Francisco 8:20 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

With LeSean McCoy`s injury, the Philadelphia backfield situation is one t steer clear of. That said, the Eagles will likely have to throw the ball. I don`t have a whole lot of confidence in Kevin Kolb, but if you are stuck at quarterback, you could do worse. The same goes for DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Brent Celek. For San Francisco, the only players that I would consider out of that mess are Frank Gore of course and Vernon Davis. Both defenses are worth a look as well.<\/p>\n

Minnesota at NY Jets 8:30 PM <\/strong><\/p>\n

Against a Jets defense, I would hesitate to start anyone wearing a Viking uniform particularly with the struggles that they have endured so far this season. Adrian Peterson is a good start as always but temper your expectations just a little bit. For the Jets, LaDainian Tomlinson has emerged as an every week start as has the Jets defense. Mark Sanchez is an OK bye-week fill in but think twice about using anyone in the Jets passing game outside of Dustin Keller. Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes are certainly enticing and could be used as bye week or injury replacements.<\/p>\n
