Louisiana Monroe<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Warhawks of Louisiana Monroe squeaked by with a close win last weekend against Southeastern Louisiana to get their first win of the season. The test will be much tougher this weekend as they travel to Auburn.<\/p>\n

The Warhawks have groomed a new quarterback this year in freshman Kolton Browning. Browning has improved each game and he provides the team with a nice running threat out of the backfield as well. The most concerning thing for the Louisiana Monroe so far this year has been that senior running back Frank Goodin just hasn\u2019t been able to get going at all. Goodin was considered one of the best running backs in the league coming into the year, but he has just 101 yards on 37 carries so far this year. The line has had trouble blocking in the running game, but they must get their act together if they want to have a successful season.<\/p>\n

The Warhawks defense lost a ton of talent from last year, and it is showing already this season. The front four are undersized and inexperienced. They have been unable to put pressure on the quarterback and they will likely struggle with powerful running games. <\/p>\n

Auburn has one of the most powerful running games in the country, so this will be a very tough test. <\/strong><\/span>\"College<\/a><\/p>\n

Auburn<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Auburn Tigers are 4-0 after taking down Clemson and South Carolina in the last two weeks. Gene Chizik\u2019s team has been finding ways to win, which shows their maturity. This is a dangerous team in the very deep SEC Conference.<\/p>\n

Auburn\u2019s offense is one of the best in the nation, and it all starts with the running game. Auburn averages 278 yards on the ground per game, which is good for 12th<\/sup> in the nation. Cameron Newton has come in and been the difference maker for this offense. Newton is leading the team in rushing and passing, and has proven he is a solid leader. The tailback trio of Michael Dyer, Mario Fannin, and Ontario McCalebb is about as good as you\u2019ll find anywhere in the country. Adams and Zachery are both great options on the outside in the passing game.<\/p>\n

The Auburn Tigers defense is definitely improving. Last year they weren\u2019t very good at all, but they are improving greatly this season, especially against the run. Marcus Lattimore was shut down last weekend and the defense picked off two passes to preserve the win in the final minutes. Thus far this year they have done a great job of bending, but not breaking. As the season goes along, they will need to get a better pass rush and improve their pass defense when they go up against the top passing teams in the SEC.<\/p>\n

The Pick:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I expect Auburn to be able to move the ball at will in this one. The Warhawks will likely be able to move the ball some, but turnovers could be a problem. Auburn has the potential to put up 50 points on their own here, so I think the over is the best play on the board.<\/p>\n
