Whoa, daddy. Week 3 was all about the offense. Let\u2019s sort through all the smoke and dust and see who emerged on a Sunday of shootouts (and, in some cases, blowouts). <\/p>\n

Bengals 20, Panthers 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t a rout but Cincy\u2019s win against the woeful Panthers was never really in doubt. It\u2019s clear that the Bengal defense\u2019s Week-1 stinker against the Patriots was an anomaly. It made Joe Flacco and Jimmy Clausen\u2019s lives miserable in consecutive weeks after that.<\/p>\n

Patriots 38, Bills 30<\/strong><\/p>\n

Huh? The Bills scored 30 points? Ryan Fitzpatrick actually attempted the odd deep ball and it seemed to open up the running game, too. C.J. Spiller got his first two pro touchdowns but it wasn\u2019t enough. The Bills are still the Bills and Tom Brady is still Tom Brady. \"\"<\/p>\n

Chiefs 31, 49ers 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

To me, this was the biggest shocker of the week. So many bettors had San Francisco winning the NFC West and here they are 0-3. Just as surprising is Kansas City\u2019s 3-0 start. Are the Chiefs that good? We can at least say that no one viewed the Chargers and 49ers as easy games when K.C.\u2019s schedule came out.<\/p>\n

Titans 29, Giants 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Above all else, this bounce-back victory for Tennessee tells us just how good the Steelers defense is. It totally shut down the Titans in Week 2 but Tennessee marched on the Giants in a road game without worry.<\/p>\n

Ravens 24, Browns 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Browns made things interesting \u2013 Peyton Hillis looks like the reincarnation of Mike Alstott \u2013 but the Ravens ground out the win. More importantly, Joe Flacco finally came through with a dominant effort under center. He and Anquan Boldin have quite the rapport going.<\/p>\n

Steelers 38, Buccaneers 13<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you didn\u2019t see this one coming, you shouldn\u2019t be betting on football. The Bucs were very clearly pretenders and the Steelers were poised to grind them into dust all along. http:\/\/www.capperspicks.com\/blog\/wp-admin\/post.php?post=26714&action=edit<\/p>\n

Falcons 27, Saints 24 (OT)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The game of the week showed us that the Falcons are ready to push the Saints for the NFC South crown. Then again, New Orleans should be 3-0. Garrett Hartley missed a friggin\u2019 29-yard field goal in overtime. Even the diplomatic Drew Brees couldn\u2019t hide his disgust.<\/p>\n

Vikings 24, Lions 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brett Favre said it best: \u201cOur running game, er, our Adrian Peterson played great today.\u201d The Vikes\u2019 passing game still didn\u2019t look good in this one. The bye comes at the right time.<\/p>\n

Cowboys 27, Texans 13<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cowboys simply had too much talent to stay down three weeks in a row. This score was more about the Cowboys\u2019 redemption than the Texans\u2019 struggles. Houston will be fine; it just happened to catch a team playing a rare must-win game in Week 3.<\/p>\n

Eagles 28, Jaguars 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

Michael Vick threw for 291 yards and accounted for four total touchdowns while also flashing scary-good downfield chemistry with DeSean Jackson. But before we go crazy, let\u2019s acknowledge that Vick just picked apart the two worst secondaries in football.<\/p>\n

Rams 30, Redskins 16<\/strong><\/p>\n

Steven Jackson\u2019s groin injury and subsequent MRI put a damper on things but the Rams have to be pretty excited about beating a competent team like Washington. Sam Bradford simply doesn\u2019t look like a rookie.<\/p>\n

Colts 27, Broncos 13<\/strong><\/p>\n

How good is Peyton Manning? He\u2019s quietly on pace for 5.402 yards and 48 touchdown passes with no interceptions and people are barely noticing. Kyle Orton stole his thunder this week by throwing for 476 yards. I\u2019d say \u201cJay who?\u201d but Mr. Cutler is doing just fine under Mike Martz\u2019s tutelage in the Windy City.<\/p>\n

Cardinals 24, Raiders 23<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cardinals are tied for the NFC West lead but I\u2019m still not convinced they\u2019re for real. Even in those two wins, they let the Rams and Raiders of all teams move the ball on them pretty consistently.<\/p>\n

Seahawks 27, Chargers 20<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another NFC West team got away with one here. Philip Rivers set a Chargers single-game record with 455 passing yards but Leon Washington spoiled San Diego\u2019s parade by returning two kickoffs for touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Jets 31, Dolphins 23<\/strong><\/p>\n

Is Mark Sanchez for real? That\u2019s two straight solid weeks for him. With three 2-1 teams, the NFC East looks like it\u2019ll be lots of fun this year.<\/p>\n
