2010 AAA 400 At Dover Predictions \u2013 Betting Preview + Picks + Odds<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Preview:<\/strong> It’s Chase race No. 2 this week in Dover, Delaware, where NASCAR has raced since 1969. The focus in the Sprint Cup Series this week has been on the rather astounding news that last week’s race winner, Clint Bowyer, was ruled to have an illegal car and was fined 150 points along with other significant penalties. <\/p>\n

Race<\/strong>: AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway

\nTime<\/strong>: 1:15 PM EST (scheduled green flag)
\nTV<\/strong>: 1:00 PM EST on ESPN <\/p>\n

While the talk at the track will continue to be the Bowyer brouhaha this weekend, the show must go on and attention will gradually turn to the task at hand: the high-banked one-mile concrete oval where Jimmie Johnson, the odds-on favorite, will start on the pole for Sunday’s race.<\/p>\n

Safe Bets:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Jimmie Johnson (3\/1): Johnson swept this track in 2009 and finished 16th here in the spring. He has five wins at Dover in 17 starts, the most of any active driver. Johnson was 19th-fastest in first practice Friday, but came out in the afternoon and grabbed the pole with a 155.736 mph lap. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

2. Kyle Busch (4\/1): Busch won twice here in the last five races and qualified 11th for Sunday’s race. He finished ninth in Loudon last week and has a string of four top-ten finishes heading to Dover this weekend. <\/p>\n

Dark Horse:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Ryan Newman (25\/1): Newman has three previous wins at Dover along with one second-place finish. He was fastest on the speed chart in practice Friday and qualified 14th. <\/p>\n

Summary: One factor in Sunday’s outcome will be the weather. The afternoon temperature at the track was in the 90s Friday, but will be much cooler Sunday with variable clouds and a chance of showers. <\/p>\n

As Kevin Harvick noted, “The hardest thing this weekend is going to be judging where you need to have your car with a twenty degree difference in the weather from today to Sunday.” <\/p>\n
