NFL news: Eagles receiving \u201cnumerous calls\u201d for Kevin Kolb; Ryan Mathews has high ankle sprain<\/strong><\/p>\n Kevin Kolb lost his starting quarterback job with the Eagles this week but could find work again soon. Numerous teams have already called the Eagles, asking about Kolb\u2019s availability via trade.<\/p>\n The prime suitor is likely Cleveland. The Browns general manager, Tom Heckert, drafted Kolb when he was running the Eagles. He and Mike Holmgren tried hard over the winter to acquire Kolb but Andy Reid stood pat.<\/p>\n Apparently, when Heckert almost took the Falcons front office job a few years back, he would\u2019ve given Reid \u201cwhatever he wanted\u201d for\u00a0 Kolb.<\/p>\n \u201cA [first-rounder], a two, two ones, no joke. Kolb is legit,\u201d Heckert said. <\/p>\n It doesn\u2019t look like rookie Ryan Mathews will return to the Chargers\u2019 lineup this Sunday or any time soon for that matter. He has a high ankle sprain, which can take weeks at a time to heal.<\/p>\n Mike Tolbert played well in Mathews\u2019 stead last week and looks like he\u2019ll start in Week 3.<\/p>\n NBA news: Steve Nash directs documentary<\/strong><\/p>\n First Baron Davis produced an Emmy-nominated documentary. Now, Steve Nash is making his directorial debut.<\/p>\n Nash directed\u00a0Into the Wind, <\/em>a documentary about Canadian runner Terry Fox. He lost his leg to cancer and went on a marathon run across the country that remains a big part of the country\u2019s heritage today.<\/p>\n Nash\u2019s documentary airs next Tuesday as part of ESPN\u2019s 30 for 30 series.<\/p>\n NHL news: Sheldon Souray on the trading block; Bruins deny that Marc Savard is out for the year<\/strong><\/p>\n Sheldon Souray\u2019s contract is an albatross but his shot from the point is equally heavy. That\u2019s why the rebuilding Edmonton Oilers are getting offers for their big defenseman.<\/p>\n Rumor has it that the Columbus Blue Jackets are thinking about sending Mike Commodore, an Alberta native, to his home province in exchange for Souray. Commodore\u2019s salary cap hit is $3.75 million whereas Souray\u2019s is $5.4 million. The deal makes a ton of sense to me.<\/p>\n The Blue Jackets need an offensive boost and would be adding a blueliner with two 20-plus goal seasons to his name.<\/p>\n That\u2019s a rare find.<\/p>\n Were the Boston Bruins dishonest while trying to trade Marc Savard all summer?
