The NFL leads the way again after a bunch of surprising moves went down yesterday.<\/p>\n
NFL news: Ravens acquire T.J. Houshmandzadeh, ship Mark Clayton to Rams; Matt Leinart a Texan<\/strong><\/p>\n Who saw that coming? Diva wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh wanted out of Seattle and supposedly wanted an environment in which he\u2019d get more targets. But will that happen in his new destination \u2013Baltimore?<\/p>\n The Ravens signed Housh to a one-year deal worth $855,000. But where does he fall on their depth chart? They already have Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason, two effective possession receivers, not to mention the league\u2019s leading pass-catching back in Ray Rice.<\/p>\n Housh can at least be happy that he climbed a spot on the depth chart within hours of joining the Ravens. Baltimore traded underachieving wideout Mark Clayton to the St. Louis Rams for future late-round considerations (so, nothing. The Rams may have traded me to Baltimore).<\/p>\n Matt Leinart finally has a new NFL team. He signed a one-year deal to back up Matt Schaub with the Houston Texans yesterday.<\/p>\n We could see another major trade go down any minute now. The Tennessee Titans are reportedly looking at reacquiring Albert Haynesworth from the Washington Redskins. It\u2019s clear that the Pro Bowl defensive tackle isn\u2019t meshing with Mike Shanahan and the Washington organization but perhaps a return to his old team could revive his career. The Redskins reportedly want at least two draft picks for Haynesworth.<\/p>\n NCAA football news: Reggie Bush will be stripped of Heisman Trophy; Wyoming linebacker killed in car crash<\/strong> <\/p>\n It\u2019s a good thing Reggie Bush got to celebrate with the Lombardi Trophy last season, as he\u2019s about to lose his Heisman Trophy.<\/p>\n Sources recently told Yahoo! Sports that the Heisman Trophy Trust will strip Bush, the 2005 winner, of the award by the end of September. He\u2019ll become the first player to have the trophy taken away from him in the award\u2019s 75-year history.<\/p>\n Bush will lose the award because he was ineligible in the 2005 season. The NCAA ruled in June that Bush had accepted gifts, cash and other illegal things that deemed him retroactively ineligible to for the 2005 season.<\/p>\n The University Wyoming lost one of its players tragically on Monday. Ruben Narcisse, a 19-year-old linebacker, died in a car accident. He was one of several teammates riding in a pickup that drifted off a highway in Colorado. The driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel. Narcisse\u2019s teammates were injured, some seriously, but all are expected to survive.<\/p>\n MLB news: Former major leaguer Bill Lee wins minor-league start at age 63<\/strong><\/p>\n Still got it, huh Bill?<\/p>\n Former longtime Boston Red Sox pitcher Bill Lee is back…at age 63. He pitched for the an independent league team, the Broxton Rox, in Massachusetts on Sunday. Lee, whose day job includes making bats for David Ortiz and other major leaguers, got the win. He allowed two runs over 5.1 innings pitched.<\/p>\n NBA news: George Karl cleared to coach<\/strong><\/p>\n As the Denver Nuggets work to retain Carmelo Anthony, they have a new selling point; doctors have cleared head coach George Karl to return.
