The Trojans, who, if they can best Middle Tennessee have a great shot at being three-peat champs in the Sun Belt Conference, should be able to defeat their MAC opponent in the opening game of the season. The only element of Bowling Green\u2019s attack the Trojans must be concerned about containing is senior RB Willie Geter. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Falcons tailback has the capability top 1,000 yards and double-digit TDs this season.<\/p>\n

For Troy\u2019s part, its offense will be led by new starting QB Jamie Hampton, but he has plenty of veteran help to nurse him along. Look for senior WR Jerrel Jernigan to be active in the game and throughout the season, along with the running duo of DuJuan Harris and Shawn Southward.<\/p>\n

Along with a veteran O-line led by senior C Tyler Clark, these elements provide security for the junior pivot Hampton, who actually won the starting job once already, in 2007.<\/p>\n

Troy\u2019s annually athletic defense shouldn\u2019t have trouble stymieing BGSU\u2019s inexperienced passing attack and will be able to key in on Geter.<\/p>\n

However, shutting down the Falcons\u2019 aerial attack might be a relative term \u2013 BGSU has a penchant for good quarterbacks and prolific chucking. Yet, the Falcons lost a large amount in the off-season due to graduation, including explosive QB Tyler Sheehan.<\/p>\n

Head coach Dave Clawson is also making the switch to more of a West Coast-style attack. This will probably lead to a drop in the passing, especially with Trojans sophomore CB Bryan Willis on the field, who gobbled up four INTs as a freshman in \u201909.<\/p>\n

There should be some points up on the board, but regardless it should indeed be a wake-up call in Alabama for the visitors this weekend.<\/p>\n
