What are the NFL Betting odds that the Detroit Lions biggest move of the last few seasons was getting rid of General Manager Matt Millen? The team has improved dramatically without him through great drafts and with prudent free agent signings. The Bears on the other hand appear to have the same problems that have plagued them the last few seasons, giving little optimism for it faithful fans.<\/p>\n

The Detroit Lions hit the road in Week 1 of the NFL Regular Season and the NFL Betting Lines currently have them +6 \u00bd . In years past it would be silly to suggest that you spend your NFL betting dough on the Lions but this season could be different. They have spent the past few seasons filling holes on their team and now they are at a point where success is certainly possible.<\/p>\n

The Lions have made strides \u2013\u00a0 that\u2019s for sure! Matt Stafford has gained the trust and respect of his teammates and his supporting cast is following building around him. Jahvid Best looks to take over the running back role, giving the Lions a legitimate weapon out of the backfield. Now if the shaky offensive line would hold up! \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Detroit defense is certainly improved but they are still nothing special. Ndamukong Suh should really help the pass rush and could be the difference on that defense however.<\/p>\n

Ahh, the Chicago Bears. The NFL Odds currently have them \u2013\u00a06 \u00bd\u00a0which seems a bit optimistic to me. Mike Martz was brought in to run the offense that year but even he is finding it difficult to mold an offense so void of legitimate weapons.<\/p>\n

The fact remains that outside of Jay Cutler, the rest of the offense is a no-name bunch. Matt Forte outside of an 89 yard run in the preseason has failed to average even three yards per game. It could be another long year offensively for Chicago \u2013 it\u2019s a good thing they have a defense.<\/p>\n

NFL odds are that the Chicago defense could return to elite status this year. The added super-stud Julius Peppers in the offseason and a hungry Brian Urlacher returns healthy and ready to go. The pair could terrorize Matthew Stafford all game long.<\/p>\n

NFL Odds Prediction:<\/strong><\/p>\n

About the only thing that the Chicago Bears have going for them in this game is that their defensive coordinator, Rod Maranelli coached the Lions two seasons ago. Other than that, I don\u2019t like the offense at all and I think that Detroit\u2019s decent mix of effective pass and equally effective runs by Jahvid Best will keep the Bears defense off balance. Not only do I like the Lions to cover, but I expect them to win outright.<\/p>\n
