If you haven\u2019t already participated in your fantasy drafts, they are likely right around the corner. There are some big names that are destined to underachieve this season. \"\"<\/p>\n

It is probably best to avoid these underachievers \u2013\u00a0the price will likely be high and the return will be low.<\/p>\n

Stay FAR Away<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1.\u00a0Carson Palmer (QB, Bengals)<\/strong> \u2013 He just isn\u2019t the same quarterback since coming back from various surgeries. You may be tempted because of Terrell Owens but Palmer hasn\u2019t shown the ability to get anybody the ball.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Roy Williams (WR, Cowboys)<\/strong> \u2013 Williams still thinks that he is an elite talent. He can\u2019t get open and when he does, he can\u2019t hold onto the ball. With Miles Austin and Dez Bryant, Williams is a #3 option \u2013 with Jason Whitten he\u2019s a fourth option in the passing game.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Steven Jackson (RB, Rams)<\/strong> \u2013 Injury prone and overworked! Jackson hasn\u2019t played a full season since 2004 and chances are that the 30+ touches that will be required of him this season will be too much. The Rams are a bad team and opposing defenses will be focusing on Jackson \u2013 poor dude!! [soliloquy id=”82219″]<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Redskins RBs<\/strong> \u2013 Clinton Portis, Larry Johnson and Willie Parker \u2013 all players that are past their prime. Add the inventor of the Running Back By Committee, Mike Shanahan and none of the three are dependable.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0Percy Harvin (WR, Vikings)<\/strong> \u2013 Could have been a breakout star this season if the stars aligned. Migraine issues and that fact that Tavaris Jackson is the Quarterback make Harvin someone to avoid.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0Darren McFadden (RB, Raiders)<\/strong> \u2013 He has all the talent in the world but can\u2019t stay healthy. He is sliding rapidly down the depth charts on his team and can\u2019t be counted on.<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0Ben Roethlisberger (QB, Steelers)<\/strong> – Suspended for at least the first four games of the season. That should be reason enough to avoid him. The loss of Santonio Holmes and the uncertainty at Running Back are others.<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0Steve Slaton (RB, Texans)<\/strong> \u2013 Slaton had offseason surgery on his neck but has declared himself healthy. Don\u2019t be tempted by his few good games last season. His team obviously has little faith in him \u2013 Ben Tate was drafted and will at very least steal away goal line touches.<\/p>\n

9.\u00a0Larry Fitzgerald (WR, Cardinals) <\/strong>\u2013 There are not many that have a whole lot of faith in Matt Leinart, myself included. Fitz might be OK but he is a big gamble on a team that lost their best player to retirement.<\/p>\n

10.\u00a0Lee Evans (WR, Bills)<\/strong> \u2013 He\u2019s been inconsistent during his career but could be viewed as a high Fantasy Draft choice because he\u2019s the unquestioned #1 WR on his team. The Bills are terrible and the quarterbacks throwing him the ball are simply awful.<\/p>\n

Others to Stay Away From:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Brett Favre<\/strong> (assuming he returns),\u00a0Kevin Walter<\/strong> (appears to be losing WR2 job to Jacoby Jones),\u00a0Julian Edelman<\/strong> (Wes Welker will be back and healthy),\u00a0Anthony Gonzalez <\/strong>(way too many weapons for Peyton Manning)<\/p>\n
