Big Z is back. Carlos Zambrano has completed his anger management training and will make his first start since late June tonight at San Francisco. <\/p>\n

But what can we expect from the big fella? He\u2019s a fantastic 5-1 with a 2.76 lifetime ERA against the San Francisco Giants but, at the same time, he has a putrid 7.79 ERA on the road in 2010. <\/p>\n

You\u2019re really rolling the dice if you bet on Zambrano and the Cubbies tonight. Are you feeling lucky? \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It\u2019s strange to say that a rookie is the \u201csafe\u201d play tonight, but it\u2019s easier to figure youngster Madison Bumgarner out. He hasn\u2019t been perfect \u2013 he\u2019s lost two straight starts, allowing seven runs over 10 innings\u2014but he looks like a viable major-leaguer. <\/p>\n

All Bumgarner\u2019s early peripheral stats suggest he\u2019s the real deal. His 39 to 13 strikeout to-walk ratio is really a three-to-1 margin, which is outstanding for a rookie. <\/p>\n

Also worth noting: Colorado was the only team to really rock Bumgarner so far this season yet is also the only team to face him twice. Bumgarner lost the element of surprise the second time around. <\/p>\n

Since the Cubbies haven\u2019t seen him yet, I can\u2019t help but think Bumgarner will shine tonight. <\/p>\n
