Senior quarterback Tyrod Taylor has honed his passing skills and will be one of the league\u2019s best in 2010. Hokies RB coach Billy Hite claims his backfield is the best he\u2019s had in years; with players like Lee Suggs and Kevin Jones among Tech\u2019s alums, this is high praise.<\/p>\n Darren Evans, who set the single-season frosh rushing record in 2008 (1,265 yards), went down with an injury last season and freshman Ryan Williams stepped in seamlessly, only smashing Evans\u2019 ACC record and setting an ACC freshman TD mark with 22 total majors.<\/p>\n Williams will probably start this season, but Evans and senior Kenny Lewis will also get carries.<\/p>\n Defensively, CB Rashad Carmichael, who was fifth on the team in tackles and chipped in with an impressive six INTs, is back to anchor the secondary.<\/p>\n 2009\u2019s second-leading tackler, ILB Barquell Rivers, is also back to patrol the middle of the field.<\/p>\n Team Weaknesses: <\/strong><\/p>\n Despite the routine athleticism on defense, it doesn\u2019t change the fact that Tech loses eight of its top 13 tacklers from last year. The versatile Cody Grimm and athletic marvel Kam Chancellor will both be tough to replace.
