For one, we\u2019ll see an influx of new teams starting next year, so the conference will be harder to win from that point on.<\/p>\n Also, the team I fully expect to finish first won\u2019t actually qualify for a bowl game and isn\u2019t even available to bet on at the sportsbook.<\/p>\n I\u2019ll explain more below with my predicted breakdown. PACIFIC-10 CONFERENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. USC I fully expect USC to win the conference but that\u2019s as far as the Trojans are allowed to go this season. Because of their recruiting violations, they\u2019re banned from postseason play for two years. It\u2019s too bad, as the Trojans look pretty good for 2010.<\/p>\n They have the top scoring defense in the nation and their entire front seven returns to terrorize the Pac-10. Oregon has suspension problems of its own with Jeremiah Masoli forced sit out the entire season.<\/p>\n But the Ducks still have good alternatives ad quarterback and they\u2019ll protect whoever gets the job (probably Nate Costa) very well with their entire O-line back.<\/p>\n Washington is picking up major steam because of its star power. Is Jake Locker the next great NFL prospect to join the hype machine? Most pundits think so. Washington can also change the pace with Chris Polk in the backfield; he topped 1,100 yards last year.<\/p>\n Nine starters return to Washington\u2019s offense but it\u2019s worth noting that the only two holes to fill are both in the offensive line.<\/p>\n Arizona could be the conference\u2019s top sleeper. Nick Foles is a solid option at quarterback and Nate Grigsby is another weapon that should make the Wildcats\u2019 offense above average. Their pass rush is also strong, led by Rick Elmore and Brooks Reed.<\/p>\n The Rodgers brothers \u2013 Jacquizz at tailback and James at wideout \u2013 really put Oregon State on the map.
