This is a great way for a young team to get some confidence and momentum rolling at the beginning of the campaign.<\/p>\n Sun, Sept. 19 @ Carolina <\/strong> – We\u2019ll see the effectiveness of young Bucs DTs \u2013 such as Roy Miller and top rookie pick Gerald McCoy \u2013 early and often because Panthers RBs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart will be toting the rock \u2013 a lot.<\/p>\n Sun, Sept. 26 <\/strong>PITTSBURGH<\/strong> – The Steel Curtain won\u2019t have their starting quarterback and they\u2019ll be gasping in the Florida humidity, so who knows?<\/p>\n Sun, Oct. 3 BYE <\/strong>An early bye week for these plucky NFC South competitors. They must be focused for an extended stretch run.<\/p>\n Sun, Oct. 10 @ <\/strong>Cincinnati<\/strong> – It could be a veteran Carson Palmer; it could always be Ocho; it could be an effective ground game spearheaded by Cedric Benson; or even a fleet-footed defense. One can\u2019t underrate the Tabbies.<\/p>\n Sun, Oct. 17 <\/strong>NEW ORLEANS<\/strong> – These are the kind of games that will make young QB Josh Freeman a premier player in the league.<\/p>\n Sun, Oct. 24 <\/strong>ST. LOUIS <\/strong> – If football had a barometer, this is a needed drop in pressure after Cincy on the road and the reigning Super Bowl champs. A win the Bucs should snag if they want a remotely satisfying 2010 season.<\/p>\n Sun, Oct. 31 @ <\/strong>Arizona<\/strong> – Can ageing CB Ronde Barber still cover the league\u2019s elite (re: Larry Fitzgerald)? Who else would you entrust the job to?<\/p>\n Sun, Nov. 7 @ Atlanta <\/strong> – This is a game the Falcons need to win, and they\u2019ll know it. Tampa better be in it to win it with this road contest.<\/p>\n Sun, Nov. 14 CAROLINA <\/strong> – There\u2019s nothing Bucs fans would like to see more than McCoy implanting Matt Moore or Jimmy Clausen (probably Clausen preferably) deep into the Raymond James Stadium turf.<\/p>\n Sun, Nov. 21 @ San Francisco <\/strong> – The 49ers have always been a tricky team to get a reading on, so Tampa should err on the side of caution and expect a dogfight.<\/p>\n Sun, Nov. 28 @ <\/strong>Baltimore<\/strong> – If the Bucs could emulate the Ravens progress in a couple of seasons, I think they\u2019d be very happy with that.<\/p>\n Sun, Dec. 5 <\/strong>ATLANTA<\/strong> – The Buccaneers face several good young teams on the 2010 schedule; a couple of them are in their own division. Best game plan: slow down workhorse RB Michael Turner first and then cross the next bridge when you get to it.<\/p>\n Sun, Dec. 12 @ Washington <\/strong> – The \u2019Skins take so much resident abuse in the NFC East, perhaps they\u2019ll relish an opportunity to beat up on a lesser opponent. Or perhaps they\u2019ll disappear entirely, as they\u2019ve been prone to do in recent seasons.<\/p>\n Sun, Dec. 19 <\/strong>DETROIT<\/strong> – Reading the newspaper, playing Scrabble, walking the dog and making love to your significant other are all viable Sunday activities.<\/p>\n Sun, Dec. 26 <\/strong>SEATTLE<\/strong> – If one of the Joshes (QBs Freeman or Johnson) become adept at throwing it over the heads of Seattle\u2019s talented LB corps, we might have something.<\/p>\n Sun, Jan. 2 @ <\/strong>New Orleans<\/strong> – This is a game the Bucs can viably steal if New Orleans pulls an Indianapolis Colts from 2009.<\/p>\n
