The most successful team in World Cup history Brazil, looks to continue their quest for a sixth title by knocking out a red-hot Chile in a much-anticipated match of the Round of 16 on Monday.<\/p>\n

The two teams have met 65 times before with Brazil basically owning Chile by winning 46, losing 7, and drawing 12 games, and outscoring them 152 to 55. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It was no shock that Brazil topped Group G by beating North Korea, and the Ivory Coast, before drawing their final group game with Portugal. The side hasn\u2019t looked too terribly impressive in comparison to squads past, but then again they have yet to truly be tested by this year\u2019s competition. Something tells me they may be holding back to reserve enough energy to bust out large in the knockout phase. <\/p>\n

Chile also got off to a good start in Group H by beating both Honduras and Switzerland, but then was slightly derailed in a 2-1 loss to Euro Champions Spain, in which they were reduced to 10 men after midfielder Marco Estrada was sent off due to his second yellow card of the game. <\/p>\n

Much like minnows Ghana did to the favored Americans, Chile will need shut down the midfield and press on early with an all out attack. If they let the Brazilians control the pace, the match could be over by the end of the first half. Chile has six forwards in South Africa, in Alexis Sanchez, Humberto Suazo, Mark Gonzalez, Jean Beausejour, Fabian Orellana, and Esteban Paredes <\/p>\n

They will need to integrate all six at some point to maintain fresh legs, pressing the action up front and putting pressure on the opposition\u2019s ball carrier. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Samba Kings, outscored their group foes 5-2, and are strong offensively with the usual suspects of Robinho, Luis Fabiano, Nilmar, and Grafite up front, while Maicon is a good attacking right fullback. <\/p>\n

The midfield is solid and will return to full strength as influential playmaker Kaka returns to the lineup after sitting out against Portugal due to being sent off with a red card against Ivory Coast, as well as Elano, who scored in each of Brazil’s opening two games, then suffered and ankle knock in he sides match against the C\u00f4te d’Ivoire. <\/p>\n

In addition to their striking power, they are also solid defensively, and are anchored by one of the world\u2019s best goalkeepers–Julio Cesar, who has already recorded one clean sheet in this year\u2019s tournament. <\/p>\n

The Brazilians are sure to pick up the pace during the knockout stages creating numerous scoring opportunities and clamping down on defense to suffocating proportions.<\/p>\n
