This is one game where there is some potential for upset with four-time winners Italy failing to inspire since they won the last World Cup and Paraguay looking very good in qualification.<\/p>\n

In a group with low ranking New Zealand and Slovakia, this should be the toughest fixture for the Italians who will be looking to equal Brazil\u2019s record of five World Cup wins.<\/p>\n

Celebrated coach Marcello Lippi and the defending champions Italy are a top pick to move on through the stages. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

They topped their qualifying group with seven wins. But it has been a rough four years since their last Cup; beaten by Spain in 2008, and a disastrous finish in the 2009 Confederations Cup. Much of the 2006 class is still here, so experience is on their side. Lippi knows how to make changes as seen in 2006 when five of 12 goals were scored by substitutes.<\/p>\n

Always exceptional defensively, the attacking game Martino was known for in his playing days has become more developed and is a genuine weapon now.<\/p>\n

Leading the charge is Rogue Santa Cruz who is coming off of several outstanding seasons.<\/p>\n

He is backed by offensive threats Salvador Cabanas and Nelson Haedo Valdez who teamed to score 11 goals in qualifying. If their new attack abilities play well, Italy will be looking at a battle.<\/p>\n

With the relatively easy opposition in the rest of the group, Paraguay would probably be satisfied with a draw out of this fixture, where as Italy will want to prove their capabilities and go all out for a win.<\/p>\n
