The Brewers would\u2019ve hoped this Sunday night\u2019s battle with the St. Louis Cardinals would be a crucial divisional tilt. Instead, they\u2019re fighting to stay out of the basement in the National League Central.<\/p>\n
But a win in the Sunday nighter could be a crucial stepping stone back to respectability.<\/p>\n

His walk rate is worse than it\u2019s ever been \u2013 and that\u2019s very alarming for a guy who traditionally relies on good control to be effective. He\u2019s won just once in 11 starts this season. <\/p>\n But his numbers are mildly deceiving. 14 of his earned runs came over four innings in two of those 11 starts. <\/p>\n Bush has allowed three or fewer runs in every other outing this season. <\/p>\n That said, the St. Louis Cardinals haven\u2019t been nice to him in his career. He\u2019s started nine games against them, compiling a 2-6 record and 6.45 ERA. <\/p>\n Pretty much everyone in the current Cards\u2019 lineup has a good history against Bush. <\/p>\n Yadier Molina has three homers in 18 at-bats; Skip Schumaker and Matt Holliday both hit north of .400 against him. Albert Pujols \u201conly\u201d has a .300 lifetime average against Bush.
