Race<\/strong>: Gillette Fusion ProGlide 500 – Pocono Raceway It’s a 2.5-mile tri-oval with three distinctly different corners and three different length straightaways, making it a challenge not only for drivers, but especially for the crew chiefs who have to find a way to set up the cars for such strange conditions. <\/p>\n Rain may be an issue over the weekend, including raceday Sunday, although Friday’s qualifying session should be run in full. <\/p>\n Jimmie Johnson had the fastest car in practice Friday, followed by Juan Pablo Montoya, Denny Hamlin, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and AJ Allmendinger.<\/p>\n Safe Bets:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. Denny Hamlin (7\/2): <\/strong> In eight Pocono starts, Hamlin has three wins, including the August race last year, and the best average finish among active drivers with a 9.5. <\/p>\n He has also finished third twice. <\/p>\n . 2. Tony Stewart (10\/1):<\/strong> Stewart is the defending winner of this race and a two-time winner overall in 22 starts. <\/p>\n He started both of last year’s Pocono races from the pole. <\/p>\n Dark Horse:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. Kasey Kahne (20\/1):<\/strong> Kasey won the Pocono 500 in 2008 after starting from the pole.
