Post time is scheduled for 6:15 P.M. <\/p>\n<p>The Preakness is a grade I stakes race for three year olds with a total prize purse of $1,000,000.<\/p>\n<p>It is contested on a dirt track over a distance of 1 3\/16th mile.<\/p>\n<p>The field is limited to 14 entrants and as of now it appears that only a few horses that ran in the Kentucky Derby on May 1<sup>st<\/sup> have opted to enter this race. This opens the door for quite a few new faces to get their shot at glory on Saturday.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>While actual odds for the Preakness have yet to be posted, it is expected that Derby winner\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Super Saver<\/strong>, trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by jockey Calvin Borel will most likely go off as the odds-on-favorite in this race. He has continued to train in Kentucky this past week and will be shipped to Pimlico on Tuesday to finish his training there.<\/p>\n<p>Trainer Bob Baffert has announced that he plans to run this year\u2019s Derby favorite,\u00a0<strong>Lookin at Lucky<\/strong> in the Preakness as well. Starting from the first gate at Churchill with 6-1 odds, he could only manage a sixth place finish in the Derby. Garrett Gomez will not be his jockey in this race, but look for Martin Garcia to possibly get the call.  <iframe allowtransparency='true' src='http:\/\/ff.connextra.com\/Bodog\/selector\/client?client=Bodog&#038;placement=Ext_RS_Racebook_250x250&#038;cxt_aff_id=151627&#038;tclk=http:\/\/www.bodog.eu\/welcome\/151627\/'  class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin: 1px; border: 3px solid #FFFFFF;\" width='250' height='250' scrolling='no' frameborder='0' style='border-width:0'><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Expect Lookin at Lucky to be the second favorite in the field.<\/p>\n<p>A few other horses that ran in the Derby and are expected to race this Saturday are\u00a0<strong>Paddy O\u2019Prado, Dublin<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Jackson Bend. <\/strong>Paddy O\u2019Prado could have the best odds out of this group as he turned in a solid effort at Churchill, finishing third; a neck behind second place finisher\u00a0<strong>Ice Box. <\/strong>He is trained by Dale Romans and will be ridden by Kent Desormeaux. <\/p>\n<p>Dublin is another horse to watch come post time. Trained by D. Wayne Lucas, he is coming off a seventh place finish in the Derby. With a smaller field and a slightly shorter distance, do not be surprised if Dublin garners some shorter odds as well.<\/p>\n<p>A few of the horses that did not run in the Derby but are expected to run in the Preakness include\u00a0<strong>Aikenite,<\/strong> <strong>Hurricane Ike, Pleasant Price<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Schoolyard Dreams. <\/strong>Aikenite is also trained by Pletcher and should be ridden by Javier Castellano.
