The dynamic forward scored a total of nine goals in 11 qualifiers alone, and was ably accompanied by world stars such as Pierre Web\u00f3, veteran Geremi Njitap, Jean Makoun, Stephane Mbia, Arsenal\u2019s Alexandre Song, and goalkeeper Idriss Carlos Kameni, who surrendered just two goals in six final round contests. <\/p>\n With an impressive amount of firepower, they will certainly never get a better opportunity to go one step further than its amazing run 20 years ago. <\/p>\n Cameroon looked like they were about to miss their second straight World Cup after beginning their qualifying campaign with just a draw from their first two matches, but then completed an impressive turnaround recording four straight victories to ensure safe passage to South Africa.<\/p>\n It all started with two victories in four days over contenders Gabon, followed by a win over Togo, and a 2-0 victory in Morocco. <\/p>\n Cameroon has played in 17 FIFA World Cup matches, the most of any national team from Africa.
