Arenas will miss approximately the first month of the season because of an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee, after getting rewarded with a $111 million contract this offseason.<\/p>\n
“The good news is that I’m going to finally be OK — that’s the good news,” Arenas said. “It’s frustrating because of the way things have gone recently. I just want to get better and get on the floor and be healthy, put this behind me.”<\/p>\n
The Wizards drafted athletic, but raw 7-foot center JaVale McGee out of Nevada but also made a huge mistake by allowing hometown shooting guard Roger Mason to leave the club for the greener pastures of San Antonio.<\/p>\n
Despite their glaring lack of defense, the Wizards ranked sixth overall in ATS wins last season, Washington averaged a solid 98.8 points per game (14th) but allowed 99.2 points per contest defensively.<\/p>\n
