SAFE BUT SMART<\/strong><\/h3>\n1. St. Louis Rams: Sam Bradford, QB<\/strong><\/p>\nGood for the Rams. Sure, Bradford isn\u2019t a can\u2019t-miss prospect a-la-Peyton Manning, but he was far-and-away the best quarterback available. The Rams were smart to avoid the temptation of a Ben Roethlisberger trade, as they\u2019re simply nowhere close to a \u201cwin now\u201d team.<\/p>\n
7. Cleveland Browns: Joe Haden, CB<\/strong><\/p>\nHaden was expected to slip as low as 13th<\/sup> \u2013 but why? He was the top-rated corner in the draft and the Browns recognized that. Good on them for not getting caught up in the quarterback chase.<\/p>\n8.<\/strong> Oakland Raiders: Rolando McClain, LB<\/strong><\/p>\nWha? The Raiders didn\u2019t make a ridiculous pick? Sure, it was a tiny bit early for McClain, but the Raiders finally broke their trend and actually made a safe choice. You\u2019d think the Chargers of all teams would know that considering their discovery of Darren Sproles. Instead, they traded up to get a guy who was projected to go no earlier than 20th<\/sup>. Curious.<\/p>\n25. Denver Broncos: Tim Tebow, QB<\/strong><\/p>\nNo Jimmy Clausen but Tebow goes? Wow. I guess his workouts, in which he showed off an improved throwing release, impressed Denver enough to take a chance. You have to love Tebow\u2019s attitude and he\u2019ll eventually have weapons in Eddie Royal and Demaryius Thomas. But we have no idea if he\u2019ll be any better than Brady Quinn or Kyle Orton. I\u2019m not a believer.<\/p>\n
STEALS<\/strong><\/h3>\n21. Cincinnati Bengals: Jermaine Gresham, TE<\/strong><\/p>\nA tight end in the first round? How could that be a steal? Well, based on Gresham\u2019s scouting report, he looks like a physical freak with good hands \u2013 a potential Pro Bowl offensive tight end. If Cincy just found the next Antonio Gates, that\u2019s a steal.<\/p>\n

Green Bay Packers: Bryan Bulaga, OT, <\/strong><\/p>\nI saw many mock drafts with Bulaga rated as high as No. 4 overall, so it\u2019s no wonder the Packers were so elated to grab rock-solid protection for Aaron Rodgers late in round one. The best part is that he\u2019s a Midwest boy who will fit right in on the Frozen Tundra.<\/p>\n
