Golf news: Lorena Ochoa retires at age 28<\/strong><\/p>\n And the PGA thought it was in trouble when\u00a0its<\/em> top-ranked player took a hiatus. <\/p>\n Women\u2019s world No. 1 Lorena Ochoa did Tiger one better yesterday, stunning the golf community when she announced her retirement.<\/p>\n Ochoa leaves behind quite a legacy at age 28. She won four straight Player of the Year Awards from 2006-2009, 27 tournaments and already qualified for the World Golf Hall of Fame two years ago. Known for her charity work and warm demeanour, Ochoa reportedly wants to start a family and perform more charity work. <\/p>\n Good on ya, Lorena.<\/p>\n MLB news: Rockies president found dead; Edinson Volquez suspended for PED use<\/strong><\/p>\n Big news day in Major League Baseball. First off, Colorado Rockies president Keli McGregor was found dead in a Utah hotel room yesterday morning. He was just 48 years old. Authorities said they didn\u2019t suspect any foul play and that he died of natural causes.<\/p>\n Reds starting pitcher Edinson Volquez is the latest 50-game suspendee in Major League Baseball. The ban was announced yesterday; he tested positive for several illegal substances when he reported for spring training. Volquez claimed the PEDs were actually fertility drugs he was using to help start a family with his wife. <\/p>\n \u201cLuckily\u201d for Volquez, he\u2019s on the DL with Tommy John Surgery and (inexplicably) will be allowed to serve the suspension while he rehabs. NFL news: Holt joins the Patriots; Nedney defeats robot in kicking contest<\/strong><\/p>\n Even though Fred Taylor and Joey Galloway didn\u2019t succeed on the same level as Corey Dillon, the New England Patriots aren\u2019t through with their veteran free-agent reclamation projects. Their latest one: Torry Holt, a seven-time Pro-Bowl wideout who could make the Hall of Fame one day.<\/p>\n Holt, who ranks 10th<\/sup> all-time in receiving yards and 11th<\/sup> in catches, had a lackluster 2009 season with Jacksonville. He caught 51 passes for 772 yards.<\/p>\n Think it\u2019s time for the Robot Apocalypse to finally take Earth by storm? Not on Joe Nedney\u2019s watch. The 49ers kicker defeated a 340-pound robot named Ziggy in a field-goal contest. Ziggy nailed a 45-yarder but Nedney topped him with a 50-yarder.
