2010 NFL Draft Coverage – NFL 2010 Mock Draft<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0NFL draft<\/strong><\/a> moves to primetime for the first time in 2010. The first round will be in PRIMETIME, and takes place on Thursday April 22nd at 7:30 p.m. ET. The NFL Draft second and third rounds are on Friday April 23 at 6 p.m. ET. Rounds Four thru Seven will be held on Saturday April 24th at 10 a.m. ET.<\/p>\n

With all that said the\u00a02010 NFL Draft<\/strong> is rapidly coming up on us and our\u00a0College football handicapping<\/strong><\/a> expert Shea Matthews weighs in with his NFL 2010 Mock Draft.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re an inexact science to say the least \u2013 who saw Darrius Heyward-Bey going before Michael Crabtree last year? \u2013 but NFL mock drafts are still fun to try. Here\u2019s my best attempt at predicting the first round for 2010.<\/p>\n

1. St. Louis Rams: SAM BRADFORD, QB, Oklahoma<\/strong><\/p>\n

This pick wasn\u2019t a slam dunk a month ago considering Bradford\u2019s injury concerns and rumors of St. Louis trading for a quarterback. But Bradford\u2019s sparkling pro-day workout locked down the top spot for him.<\/p>\n

2. Detroit Lions: RUSSELL OKUNG, OT, Oklahoma State<\/strong><\/p>\n

No Ndamukong Suh? Well, with Detroit already bolstering its D-line this offseason, I can\u2019t help but wonder if it did so in order to select a different position in the draft. Okung is a very safe pick at offensive tackle.<\/p>\n

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: GERALD MCCOY, DT, Oklahoma<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s an Oklahoma party so far! Almost every mock draft I\u2019ve read has the Bucs picking McCoy and it makes sense. They want to find their new Warren Sapp to build around.<\/p>\n

4. Washington Redskins: BRYAN BULAGA, OT, Iowa<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chris Samuels is retired and Washington has to protect new quarterback Donovan McNabb.<\/p>\n

5. Kansas City Chiefs: NDAMUKONG SUH, DT, Nebraska<\/strong><\/p>\n

Am I crazy for thinking Suh could last this long? Either way, along with Glenn Dorsey, Suh could help K.C. assemble its most ferocious defense since the late Derrick Thomas\u2019 heyday.<\/p>\n

6. Seattle Seahawks: TRENT WILLIAMS, OT, Oklahoma<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s another player who goes to the same team in almost every mock draft out there. That just shows how desperately the Seahawks\u2019 O-line needs help. Williams fits Seattle\u2019s scheme (zone blocking).<\/p>\n

7. Cleveland Browns: ERIC BERRY, FS, Tennessee<\/strong><\/p>\n

This pick excites me. Cleveland acquired Sheldon Brown already and now adds a gamebreaker to the secondary with Berry. Thinks are looking up in the Dawg Pound.<\/p>\n

8. Oakland Raiders: BRUCE CAMPBELL, OT, Maryland<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oh-so tempting to have the Raiders pick Tebow here, as it would be such an Al Davis move. But I see the Raiders going for the high-upside tackle this time.<\/p>\n

9. Buffalo Bills: TIM TEBOW, QB, Florida<\/strong><\/p>\n

Insanity! But the Bills franchise is in a state of desperation and needs to generate excitement, even if Tebow isn\u2019t a great fit. At least he can rally the troops, unlike Trent Edwards. \"Bet<\/p>\n

10. Jacksonville Jaguars: JIMMY CLAUSEN, QB, Notre Dame<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bills grab the Florida boy but the Jags will be better off for it. They get Clausen and suddenly have a bright offensive future considering that Maurice Jones-Drew only has one season as a starter under his belt.<\/p>\n

11. Denver Broncos: MIKE LUPATI, G, Idaho<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like the theory that the run on tackles will let an outstanding guard like Lupati fall to Denver and help them improve their rushing offense.<\/p>\n

12. Miami Dolphins: DEZ BRYANT, WR, Oklahoma State<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ugly 40-time pushed Dez Bryant away from combine-obsessed teams like Oakland and Miami will reap the rewards. Bryant will make people forget about Ted Ginn Jr. in a hurry.<\/p>\n

13. San Francisco 49ers: JOE HADEN, CB, FLORIDA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 49ers can still be passed on (sorry, Nate Clements) and Haden is the best corner in this draft.<\/p>\n

14. Seattle Seahawks: C.J. SPILLIER, RB, Clemson<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not convinced that Justin Forsett is the long-term answer and Seattle can really up the ante in its running game by pairing Spiller with the Trent Williams pick at No. 6.<\/p>\n

15. New York Giants: ROLANDO MCCLAIN, MLB, Alabama<\/strong><\/p>\n

This pick make makes a ton of sense with the Giants losing Antonio Pierce. He could be the future leader of this defense.<\/p>\n

16. Tennessee Titans: DERRICK MORGAN, DE, Georgia Tech<\/strong><\/p>\n

After losing Albert Haynesworth and Kyle Vanden Bosch in consecutive offseasons, Tennessee clearly needs D-line help. Morgan falls into the Titans\u2019 lap because of the O-lineman lust earlier in the draft.<\/p>\n

17. San Francisco 49ers: EARL THOMAS, FS, Texas<\/strong>
\n18. Pittsburgh Steelers: MAURKICE POUNCEY, C, Florida<\/strong>
\n19. Atlanta Falcons: BRANDON GRAHAM, DE, Michigan<\/strong>
\n20. Houston Texans: KYLE WILSON, CB, Boise State<\/strong>
\n21. Cincinnati Bengals: ANTHONY DAVIS, OT, Rutgers<\/strong>
\n22. New England Patriots: DAN WILLIAMS, DT, Tennessee<\/strong>
\n23. Green Bay Packers: CHARLES BROWN, OT, USC<\/strong>
\n24. Philadelphia Eagles: JASON PIERRE-PAUL, DE, Florida<\/strong>
\n25. Baltimore Ravens: TERRENCE CODY, DT, Alabama<\/strong>
\n26. Arizona Cardinals: SERGIO KINDLE, OLB, Texas<\/strong>
\n27. Dallas Cowboys: TAYLOR MAYS, S, USC<\/strong>
\n28. San Diego Charger: JONATHAN DWYER, RB, Georgia Tech<\/strong>
