Chicago finished in third place in the division with a record of 79-83, which was 10 wins less than the previous season.<\/p>\n There was also a tie for last place in the Central with Cleveland and Kansas City finishing with identical 65-97 records, 21 \u00bd games out of first. The Indians won 16 less games than in 2008 and the Royals won 10 less.<\/p>\n Here is a look at each team in the AL Central odds to win the division this season as well as the over\/under on their season win totals.<\/p>\n Chicago White Sox With the addition of ace Jake Peavy to the starting rotation along with Mark Buehrie and closer Bobby Jenks, the Sox now have one of the more solid pitching staffs in the AL. They also acquired Mark Teahan, Omar Vizquel, Andruw Jones, and Juan Pierre this past offseason in an effort to get them back on top in the division.<\/p>\n Cleveland Indians The Indians have some offensive power with Grady Sizemore, Asdrubal Cabrera, and Matt LaPorta in the lineup, but they never were able to replace ace Cliff Lee and their starting rotation as a whole is sketchy at best leading me to believe that a 75 win season is highly unlikely. Detroit Tigers The Tigers\u2019\u00a0fortunes this season will rely heavily on the continued development of a pair of young arms in Max Scherzer and Rick Porcello, who will lead the rotation as well as closer Jose Valverde. Replacing the production of Curtis Granderson, Edwin Jackson, and Placido Polanco, who were lost this past offseason, will make it much more difficult to compete in the Central this season.<\/p>\n Kansas City Royals With a starting rotation that is led by Zack Grienke, Gil Meche, and Brian Bannister and a decent closer in Joakim Soria, the Royals should be able to improve on last season\u2019s 65 wins. The real question mark for this team is their offensive production as they have not really done anything to address the situation this past offseason.<\/p>\n Minnesota Twins With AL MVP Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, and Jason Kubel anchoring the batting order, the Twins should win enough games to be right back on top of the division again this season.
