Heading into Friday night\u2019s game in Oklahoma City, the Lakers were on a seven-game winning streak, and they\u2019ll be hoping that streak is still going when they head to Houston on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Lakers rolled to a 92-83 win in San Antonio on Wednesday night, and Kobe Bryant led a balanced attack with 24 points, while Lamar Odom was next with 19 points and 13 boards. Ron Artest had a great all-around game, going for 16 points, while adding eight rebounds and five steals for the Lakers, who held the Spurs to 37.5% from the floor. The Lakers are getting back into a rhythm, especially on the defensive end: during this seven-game streak, only two opponents have dropped more than 100 points on Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

The Rockets should start looking towards the March Madness favorites<\/a> for their draft pick as they\u2019re almost certainly headed for the lottery after a 99-93 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at home on Thursday. Trevor Ariza and Aaron Brooks had 18 points apiece for the Rockets, who were outrebounded 56-42, and they shot an awful 39.8% from the floor against a terrible Clippers team. They didn\u2019t help themselves out by missing 10 of their 27 free-throw attempts.<\/p>\n

Sportsbook odds (sportsbook reviews<\/a>) should favor the Lakers on the road, as they\u2019ve won six of their last 10 trips to Houston, and the Rockets have lost their last two games at home. The Lakers have won two of three against the Rockets this season, with Bryant averaging 27.0 points, while Brooks has countered with 22.0 points. The Lakers may miss Andrew Bynum, who put up 20.7 points and 12.0 boards against the Rockets, but they still have size with Odom and Pau Gasol, and Houston isn\u2019t the biggest team in the league. \"Sports<\/p>\n

This will also be another matchup between Artest and Ariza, who basically switched teams in the offseason. Neither has really performed well against their old teams (Artest is averaging 14.7 points against the Rockets, Ariza has 12.0 points against the Lakers), but Artest is coming around. It\u2019s taken him a long time to find his role in the triangle offense, but he\u2019s catching on at the right time as the Lakers head into the playoffs.
