NBA Tuesday Preview – Los Angeles vs Dallas<\/h2>\n

In the Western Conference, the No. 1 seed is all but sealed up with the Los Angeles Lakers enjoying a comfortable five-game lead over the Denver Nuggets. It\u2019s safe to say that nobody will catch the Lakers for the top spot with just 12 games remaining.<\/p>\n

But the battle for the second, third and four seeds is very heated right now. Currently, the Utah Jazz are in fourth place with 1.5 games behind the third-place Dallas Mavericks. Meanwhile, the Mavericks, who are in the midst of a hot streak, are just half a game behind the Denver Nuggets for the second-seed in the West. Also, three games separate the Jazz and seventh-place San Antonio, so there is a lot of room to move up or down.<\/p>\n

The Mavericks are in the midst of a 14-2 spell which has propelled them up the charts. They\u2019ll have a softball on Tuesday as the Los Angeles Clippers come to visit, which should help them make up some ground \u2013\u00a0or keep pace \u2013\u00a0 with the Nuggets.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles Clippers @ Dallas Mavericks<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sportsbook Odds: Mavericks -12<\/p>\n

The Clippers and Mavericks have been heading in two separate directions for a while now, which should set up an easy win for the Mavericks. The Clippers are just 6-21 in their last 27 games, which shows that they have done a great job of making their case for the top overall pick in the NBA Draft for a second consecutive year.\"Sports<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Mavericks have been nearly unstoppable since their trade deadline acquisition of Caron Butler, DeShawn Stevenson and Brendan Haywood.<\/p>\n

Even so, they are coming off a surprising home loss to the Boston Celtics, which demonstrates that the Mavericks still have a ways to go as far as being a Championship contender.<\/p>\n

But on Tuesday, the bottom line is that the Clippers are just 7-28 on the road this year where as the Mavericks are 24-11 at home and are coming off a home loss. The odds favor a Mavericks win here.<\/p>\n

With the Nuggets in New York, which should also provide a win, the Mavericks will keep pace with a home win themselves over the reeling Clippers.<\/p>\n
