With an impressive 67-60 victory they passed with flying colors. After building a 35-19 lead in the first half, they held off a Seminole second half rally to come away with the six point win. <\/p>\n Senior G Matt Bouldin scored 14 of his game high 17 points in the second half and junior G Steven Grey added 15 points and eight rebounds to help advance the Zags into the second round.<\/p>\n Going into the final week of the regular season Syracuse (29-4) was on quite a roll. They had just beaten Villanova in convincing fashion 95-77 and were the number one ranked team in the country in both major polls with a chance to get the first #1 seed in the NCAA\u2019s. <\/p>\n After a season ending 68-78 loss to Louisville and a first round exit in the Big East Conference Tournament at the hands of Georgetown (84-91) for the first time all season there were a few question marks surrounding this team. To make matters worse, senior F Arinze Onuaku strained a quad muscle in the loss to the Hoyas and remains a day to day decision for this tournament. <\/p>\n In drawing Vermont in the first round, the Orange had a chance to get back on track in what amounted to be little more than a brisk workout. <\/p>\n They opened up a 12 point lead at the half and coasted to a 79-56 win over the Catamounts.<\/p>\n Five players scored in double figures led by junior F Wes Johnson\u2019s 18 points. With Onuaku still questionable for this game, they will need another total team effort to advance to the Sweet 16.<\/p>\n Gonzaga presents a difficult match up for Syracuse especially if Onuaku is out of the lineup. <\/p>\n Even if he is ready to go, you have to question how effective he would be. <\/p>\n Look for the Bulldogs to keep this game close right to the end.
