This game starts a day full of PAC 10 tournament action at the Staples Center.<\/p>\n

Arizona won both games in the regular season covering the spread both time. Average margin of victory was 9.5 points.<\/p>\n

The Bruins had almost as dramatic a fall this year as UNC.\u00a0 They finished under .500 for the first time in a long time and that included losses to Portland and Fullerton.\u00a0 After some great seasons the early exodus of players seems to have left the cupboard bare.\u00a0 Leading scorer Michael Roll is a nice player but not of the same calibre as recent stars like Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook or Darren Collison.\u00a0 The PAC 10 was down this year in part due to UCLA’s poor performance.\u00a0 They lost to USC twice and the only teams they swept were Washington State and Oregon State.<\/p>\n

This team just seems to have no identity…or maybe worse its identity is that of a mediocre team.\u00a0 Arizona is going to try and scratch their way into the NCAA and UCLA might not even put up a fight.<\/p>\n

Arizona has made the big dance for 25 years in a row but it looks like that is coming to an end this year.\u00a0 The talent base was a little thinner than normal and they are breaking in a new coach so expectations were muted but this team should have performed better.\u00a0 PG and leader Nic Wise was down this year while freshman Derrick Williams is making a variety of postseason teams with a very solid season as the ‘Cats leading scorer and rebounder.\u00a0 This combo can easily lead the Wildcats to a win in their opening tournament game. \"Sports<\/p>\n

The Wildcats have the goods to keep their tourney streak alive but they are going to need one hell of a weekend.<\/p>\n

It could be very fun to watch.<\/p>\n
