At this stage of the season both Texas and Baylor have played their way into the tournament but this is still a nice\u00a0 game before the conference playdowns. With a win Baylor proves yet again that they can hang with anybody in the country and receives a nice boost from having swept the series against their in-state rivals.\u00a0 Meanwhile Texas needs a win to prove that they can actually beat a good team, which they haven’t done since they beat Michigan State back in December. \u00a0The Longhorns are looking like early exit material right now.<\/p>\n

The Longhorns are a mystery. \u00a0Ever since they got beat by K-State they have not been able to get up off the mat. \u00a0They have been playing tentative for a couple of months now and they are losing key players to injury as well. \u00a0Not a great formula for a team that had championship aspirations.<\/p>\n

At times it appears that all this team needs is a good point guard but it may run deeper than that. \u00a0\"SportsIf it were up to me I would play small and this game would be the game to try it out as Baylor is a perimeter oriented team.\u00a0 There is really not much to lose by experimenting a little.<\/p>\n

On the opposite end of the spectrum Baylor is looking very good. \u00a0LaceDarius Dunn is one of the better clutch players in the nation and he and Tweety Carter make up a great backcourt. \u00a0Combine that with the emergence of Epke Udoh and this team can match up with pretty much anyone.<\/p>\n

Their biggest problem is depth. \u00a0If anyone of their big three is off their game it becomes very difficult for the Bears. \u00a0Baylor is the rare teams that wants to get the score up but also plays good defense. \u00a0They are number 4 in the country in FG% D at just under 38%.<\/p>\n
