Jimmie Johnson (7\/2)<\/strong>: There have only been 12 Cup races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Johnson has won three of them – three straight from 2005-2007 – making him the winningest driver at this track. Although he hasn’t finished as well here the last two seasons, Johnson’s win last weekend in California suggests that the 48 team is off to a strong start in 2010. <\/p>\n 2. Kyle Busch (5\/1):<\/strong> Busch is the defending winner of this race, going pole-to-pole last year for the victory. After a rough start in his first Vegas race back in 2004, the hometown driver has had four top 10s in five races (his other finish was 11th), giving him an average finish of 5.2 during that timeframe. <\/p>\n Dark Horse:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. Kasey Kahne (25-1):<\/strong> Kahne’s team has been inconsistent in Las Vegas, but he has finished as high as second (2004) and fourth (2006). Since a DNF in 2007, Kahne has had finishes of sixth and eleventh, and qualified 19th Friday. This has not been a Dodge-friendly track, but Ford has the most wins here for a manufacturer, which could work in Kasey’s favor since Richard Petty Motorsports switched to the blue oval this year. <\/p>\n Summary<\/strong>: Look for weather and tires to be two of the stories heading into Sunday’s race. Polesitter Kurt Busch is anxious to try and parlay his strong qualifying run into a win in front of his hometown crowd, while Jeff Gordon, who’s gotten off to a rough start in 2010 and qualified on the outside pole, is also eager to turn his season around.
