The USA has largely leaned on Goaltender Ryan Miller to carry the load, but he has been supported by strong offensive efforts from Brian Rafalski, Chris Drury and David Backes and good defensive performances from Ryan Suter, and the Johnson boys.<\/p>\n The USA has played the Swiss already in the tournament, earning a 3-1 victory in their inaugural game. They have a ton of confidence at the moment and now realize that they do not have to play their best game in order to win. Ryan Miller is a difference maker as has been demonstrated with his club team the Buffalo Sabres. He is quickly emerging as one of the top three or four goaltenders on the planet. Team USA should be able to ride the momentum and gain a place in the Semi-finals with a win over the pesky Swiss. Team Switzerland finished as the eighth seed after the Round Robin, but gave very team that they faced fits. They play a trap style that has been effective in recent Swiss International play. Although the Swiss are not a real threat to win Wednesday\u2019s game, they are certainly capable of keeping the game close. The only factor working against them is the two straight shootout victories that they have garnered to get to this point in the Olympic tournament. How much have these two game taken out of the Swiss players? We\u2019ll have to wait and see.<\/p>\n The United States is heavily favored in this game and rightfully so. However, Team Switzerland\u2019s chemistry and ability to play a total team game should keep this match close.
