Kevin Garnett is also slowed by his bum knee. The West won\u2019t have Kobe Bryant, who will rest his injured ankle. That gives a huge advantage to the East. It wasn\u2019t depending on washed up Iverson to score anyway and KG\u2019s defense isn\u2019t nearly as important in the soft atmosphere of the All-Star game. The East is loaded not only with experienced guys, but experienced guys in their prime. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh (a.k.a. Team 2010 Free Agency), and Dwight Howard are all arguably top-10 NBA stars and are at their physical peak. The West\u2019s top guns are aging (Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, Steve Nash), hurt (Bryant, Chris Paul) or young and inexperienced (Kevin Durant, Zach Randolph).<\/p>\n The West has more depth and I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony had monster games \u2013 especially Durant. But the East All-Stars have more star power and a healthier roster. For that reason, I like them to rain on Dallas\u2019 parade on Sunday.<\/p>\n Pick: Eastern Conference<\/p>\n BONUS PICK: Slam Dunk Contest<\/strong><\/p>\n Look for\u00a0DeMar DeRozan <\/strong>to steal the Slam Dunk contest. Of course, he has to win a Dunk-In against Eric Gordon to even qualify.<\/p>\n But I think the Dunk-In winner will be nice and warmed up for the contest while the other guys shake off rust for their first few dunks.<\/p>\n Shea weighs in with a pick and preview for the NBA All-Star game.
