NHL Power Ratings – Dave B\u2019s NHL Power Rankings \u2013 Feb. 10th 2010<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s the last week before the two week Olympic break. It\u2019s time to put up of shut up for those wishing to make a push toward the playoffs.<\/p>\n

After a week break (Super Bowl Madness), Dave B is back with his ever-changing NHL Power Rankings.<\/p>\n

The Top Teams In The NHL<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1. Capitals<\/strong> \u2013 41-12-6 (2 weeks ago: 2). 14 straight victories and counting with their thrilling comeback OT victory on Super Bowl Sunday. The most exciting team in the NHL keeps getting it done.<\/p>\n

2. Sharks<\/strong> – 38-11-9 (3). Own the second best record in the NHL and are Best in the West. The Sharks are on the road this week -we\u2019ll see if they can keep their place.<\/p>\n

3. Blackhawks<\/strong> \u2013\u00a035-15-5 (1). Finished up a tough road trip relatively unscathed. Talent and confidence galore on this team.<\/p>\n

4. Kings<\/strong> \u2013\u00a036-19-3 (11). 9-1-1 record in their last 10 games has the surprising Kings in fourth place overall in the NHL. I have no explanation!<\/p>\n

5. Canucks<\/strong> \u2013 35-20-2 (6). On quite a roll right now, but could slip due to the longest road trip in NHL history. They have Coaching, Goaltending, Offense and Defense clicking on all cylinders right now.<\/p>\n

6. Senators <\/strong>\u2013 33-22-4 (10). The return of their Superstars from injury has propelled the Sens to a 9-1-1 record in their last 10 games and a team record 11 straight wins. Goaltender Brian Elliot looks All-World.<\/p>\n

7. Coyotes<\/strong> \u2013 35-19-5 (9). They Coyotes just keep hanging around and are worthy of their Top 10 spot. We\u2019ll see how they respond to top scorer Scottie Upshall\u2018s torn ACL.<\/p>\n

8. Penguins<\/strong> \u2013 35-22-2 (8). Just playing OK hockey right now. That will change and the Pens will be near the top where they belong soon.<\/p>\n

9. Avalanche<\/strong> \u2013 32-19-6 (7). They are in a real dogfight with the Canucks for the Northwest Division Crown. Matt Duchesne is one of the reasons why the Avs. are legit.<\/p>\n

10. Sabres <\/strong>\u2013\u00a032-18-7 (4). Only 2-7-1 in their last 10 games. Is the Cinderella story coming to a close? The Sabres are on a definite slide.<\/p>\n

11. Devils<\/strong> \u2013 36-19-2 (5). 2010 hasn\u2019t been great to the Devils. The return of Patrik Elias and the acquisition of Ilya Kovalchuk should give this team a real boost. I\u2019m not expecting to see the Devils outside the Top 10 for long.<\/p>\n

12. Flames<\/strong> \u2013\u00a029-21-9 (14) \u2013\u00a0 Only in the Top 15 because of their overall record. The Flames have been rotten lately and if the Darryl Sutter makeover doesn\u2019t start gelling soon, there could be a major shakeup in Calgary<\/p>\n

13. Stars<\/strong> \u2013 26-21-11 (25). Marty Turco is likely to be traded, leaving Alex Auld to be the primary Goaltender in Dallas. Yikes is right.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

14. Predators<\/strong> \u2013 31-22-4 (12). The Preds are struggling only going 3-6-1 in their last 10 games but are still almost 10 games over .500.<\/p>\n

15. Red Wings <\/strong>\u2013 27-21-10 (13). The Wings are starting to get healthy \u2013 Watch Out Western Conference!!<\/p>\n
