NBA odds: Nash leads Suns into New Orleans<\/strong><\/p>\n

Phoenix could have tired legs after facing the Rockets Sunday night, but the Hornets might be without a very important pair of legs themselves: Chris Paul\u2019s. The young star is nursing a knee injury but, if he plays, NBA betting fans will be treated to a Paul\/Steve Nash battle at point guard.<\/p>\n

Phoenix (28-21, 25-23-1 ATS) has won two straight games\u2014including two straight against the spread\u2014after dropping four in a row ATS. The Suns haven\u2019t played very well against NBA odds lately, winning just four times in their last 10 outings. Though they won their last road game against the spread, they\u2019d dropped the previous three ATS away from home.<\/p>\n

Steve Nash could be in the midst of another MVP season. Obviously, there are a lot of games to be played and some other great candidates, but his statistics are even better than they were during the 2004 and 2005 seasons; Nash\u2019s field goal percentage, three-point percentage and free throw percentage are higher while he\u2019s adding 18.5 points and 11.0 assists per game (the same as his MVP seasons). With Nash at the helm Phoenix ranks first in scoring in the NBA. Of course, NBA betting fans are well aware of the team\u2019s defensive struggles as well; the Suns are second-worst in points allowed, ahead of only Golden State.<\/p>\n

Has something woken up the Hornets? New Orleans (26-21, 23-24 ATS) has scraped together five wins in its last seven games, including a great 4-1 effort against the point spread in its last five outings. \"Online New Orleans has been strangely bad at home lately, losing three straight against the spread, but the Hornets showed some real grit against Memphis on Saturday by earning an overtime road win without their best player.<\/p>\n

Yes, Chris Paul is on the shelf, meaning tonight\u2019s game could lose its most-intriguing angle. Paul is dealing with knee issues and will be questionable for tonight\u2019s game. If he plays, New Orleans obviously gets a big boost to its NBA odds\u2014Paul is averaging 20.4 points, 11.2 assists and 2.3 steals per game. The Hornets\u2019 second-leading scorer, David West, has busted out over his last two games by averaging 25.5 PPG.<\/p>\n

New Orleans is a very impressive 7-3 SU and 8-2 ATS against Phoenix in their last 10 meetings, but the series has been much closer in recent seasons. The Suns and Hornets are 2-2 straight up and against the spread in their last two matchups, with the Hornets winning most recently (a 110-103 home victory in November).<\/p>\n
