Look out, Western Conference. The Vancouver Canucks have regained that swagger that made them an unstoppable force in the second half last season. The goals are coming in droves, not just from Daniel Sedin, but from blossoming youngsters like Alex Burrows, Ryan Kesler and, most recently, Mason Raymond. With Roberto Luongo backstopping them, they\u2019ve also allowed the second-fewest goals in the conference. <\/p>\n

Not that the equally stingy Sabres are an easy opponent by any means. Led by Calder Trophy front runner Tyler Myers and goaltender Ryan Miller, they\u2019ve stifled opponents all season long. \"Sports Unfortunately for Buffalo fans, the Sabres\u2019 lengthy Western-Conference road trip is finally starting to tire them out. They\u2019ve lost three straight games (to Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Jose), allowing an uncharacteristic four goals per contest over that span. <\/p>\n

While the Sabres do have distributed scoring, with seven players sporting double-digit goal totals, none of them has more than 14 goals this season. If they get got in a shootout with Vancouver, they simply don\u2019t have the elite horses to keep up with the Sedins. As long as the Canucks are on fire and the Sabres are fatigued and getting away from their game plan, Vancouver looks like a solid home play tonight. Especially after it manhandled the powerhouse Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. <\/p>\n
