Villanova comes into this game as one of only two teams in the Big East with an undefeated record in conference play. They are led by arguably the deepest backcourt in college basketball, headlined by senior All-Big East performer, Scottie Reynolds. Reynolds greatest attribute is his consistency: for four years his point totals have steadied between 14-18 points, and always ends the game with a handful of assists. Corey Fisher and Corey Stokes provide depth, while Reggie Redding has been steady since his return from a first semester suspension. Down low, Antonio Pena and Duke transfer Taylor King are a bit undersized, but both average double-figures in scoring.<\/p>\n

As for Georgetown, they have, and always will play a much more deliberate game. Their \u201cPrinceton style,\u201d offense doesn\u2019t allow for a lot of scoring (they only average 70 points per game), but is deliberate and frustrating for opponents to defend. Georgetown plays excellent defense themselves, giving up just 58 points per game (ranked 11th in college basketball) and allowing opponents just 30 rebounds per game.<\/p>\n Despite that deliberate offense, and the stifling Georgetown defense, my money is still on Villanova in the college basketball betting odds. For starters, they\u2019re at home, which in the Big East is always a huge advantage.<\/p>\n But more than that, they seem to be able to figure out how to score against anyone. In Monday night\u2019s win against Louisville, despite trailing by seven at halftime, they ripped off 56 second half points and were able to get big road victory.<\/p>\n Villanova isn\u2019t the most conventional team in college basketball, but are one of its most successful. Although the matchups may be favoring Georgetown, I\u2019m going with the Wildcats to get the win.<\/p>\n
