Still claiming that he injected McGwire with steroids in bathroom stalls, Jose Canseco challenged Mark McGwire, who called him a liar, repeat his claim under a nationally televised polygraph test. He also lambasted Cardinals manager Tony La Russa for saying he only discovered Big Mac\u2019s steroid use this week. What do we do with this one? Canseco speaks with such conviction about his steroid exploits. But he also plays beer league softball. And fights 7\u20192\u201d guys in MMA. It\u2019s tough to take him seriously.<\/p>\n
It seems baseball\u2019s first financial intervention has occurred. Major League Baseball and the Players Union teamed up to slam the Florida Marlins for never, ever spending any money. The Marlins stinginess has gotten so bad that the MLB began to wonder if Florida ownership was tucking its chunk of league-shared revenue under its mattress.<\/p>\n
You\u2019d think the Pirates had the same problem. But no \u2013 they probably lost the money. Or had it stolen at lunch time. Or gave it to Manatee College.<\/p>\n
NBA News: Grizzlies rally from poor play, building evacuation to beat Clippers<\/strong><\/p>\nLate the third quarter of last night\u2019s Clippers\/Grizzlies game, a broken water main forced everyone \u2013 players, broadcasters and fans \u2013 out of the FedEx Forum in an emergency evacuation. The Clippers, who led by 12 at that point, waited on their team bus while the hometown crowd moved across the street.<\/p>\n
Eventually, play resumed and the break helped Memphis. They rallied past a discombobulated Clippers team to steal the game 104-102. Could this happen to any team other than the Clippers?<\/p>\n
