This bowl game is another showcase of the Big East squaring off against the perennially stout SEC; is 7-5 in a middling conference really the same as 7-5 in the FBS’s eminent grouping?<\/p>\n

UConn, for its part, is used to razor-thin outcomes in games. Five of the Huskies’ last six games have been decided by four points or less. The Huskies narrowly failed against the top half of the conference in 2009, coming up short against West Virginia, Rutgers and Cincinnati. \"\"<\/a> They’re riding good vibes recently though, UConn has won its last three games after a two-OT squeaker against Notre Dame on Nov. 21.<\/p>\n

Jordan Todman and Andre Dixon comprise an excellent 1-2 punch on the ground for UConn. At least one of them must have a top-tier performance if they are to beat the Gamecocks. Defensive lineman Lindsey Witten is also averaging a sack a game, so he should be exciting to watch, too.<\/p>\n

For Steve Spurrier’s men, QB Stephen Garcia must have a strong game getting the ball to wideouts Alshon Jeffery and Moe Brown. <\/p>\n

If SC can’t get chunks of yardage through the air, it will likely grind their entire offense to a halt. <\/p>\n

Like enough other SEC schools, the Gamecocks have the experience and skill on defense to force turnovers and create havoc, but Garcia still must put at least a small bundle of points on the scoreboard.<\/p>\n
